Worst restaurant i have ever worked at. Period. The GM was terrible at his job, very incompetent and his teeth looked like he’s been on meth for years. All of the other managers, including the GM were very rude and disrepectful. My coworkers were insane. I know for a fact that 5 of them bump coke in the back multiple times per shift. I even had one of them try to deal it to me. 1 of them smoked crack regularly and the rest were very hostile and disrespectful. No one trains you there, they kind of just throw you in during rush hour and tell you to pick up on whats going on. I had no proper training and ive seen some really gross things happen in the kitchen. For one, people often did some of the food prep with their hands and used food that fell on the floor and still serve it, not to mention the 3 week old mushy, crystalized lemon wedges that they gladly gave to people in their iced tea. Never switched them out the entire time i was there. Nothing gets properly cleaned and there are rats and cockroaches. Absolutely terrible. Very overworked, wayyyy underpaid, and barely enough staff to cover anything. Dont work at chili’s you’ll hate it.
Don’t get too attached to your coworkers. Look out for yourself. Not everyone wants to see you succeed. And dont let anyone walk all over you. ESPECIALLY the managers.
It helps if you have experience with a point of sale system already, but they will train you if not. It’s a fast paced job, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty simple. It will also give you an advantage if you would like to become a server. You will already know the computer, the menu and how to expo.
What is the vacation policy like at Chili's? How many vacation days do you get per year?
HOURLY employees are NOT given ANY paid vacation time. They are given a $250 anniversary bonus for years 1 through 5.
30-40 at first. The more you learn the more hours you get. Make yourself an asset and try to avoid becoming a liability.
