The flexibility of working with CHP has been the best part of my job along with the work culture. With having children, I am able to leave the office or go to an appointment and make up my time without hesitation from my management. I am able to make my own schedule so to speak in my position as well. Not a lot of workplaces let you have the flexibility in a workday. Traveling from office to office and getting to know our 12 branches has been very enjoyable for me-often getting experiences I would never see if I was in my personal office all day long. The nursing staff, home health aides, and STNAs are the backbone of this company. Priding ourselves on our hospice program as well, we are a staple in the communities of NW Ohio for the personal care that one may not get some a big chain company of healthcare. I can honestly say I love CHP and so many of the people who I work with are respectful and personable. I receive encouragement and support from management and enjoy the corporate setting. I would want my loved one to have an aide or nurse help with their needs from CHP 100%. CHP as a company is the best company I have ever worked for as far as their ethics to their employees and clients as well.

CHP Homecare & Hospice is truly a wonderful company to work for. Personally, I work 9 days every 2 weeks, 5 days 1 week and 4 days the next. I discussed with my supervisor the need for one day off every 2 weeks for personal appointments and she arranged the paperwork. I feel very confident with my skills - If I feel uncomfortable or not "quite sure" on a nursing skill that I have not completed in a while, your manager/coworkers will review and/or go with you on that visit to educate you and make you competent and comfortable. I truly enjoy the one-on-one care with my patients. I typically see 5-6 patients a day. You must have decent time management skills with this job, as it does require computer charting. In my opinion, the hospice aspect was the hardest to learn/get comfortable with. Orientation for hospice is different than just skilled home care. I did not feel comfortable with hospice, spoke to my supervisor and she worked with me and provided the necessary tools/education. There is ALWAYS someone to talk to, whether it be a nursing question, computer problem, charting question/problem. This company has so many great people that work in various departments. My specific office is one big team, and we all sincerely work together. The VP of clinical services is very understanding, I have had personal discussions with her regarding concerns and she truly cares and has the best intentions. The hardest part of the job is losing patient's that you have built a relationship/bond with over several months/years. However, it is a very rewarding, and fulfilling career.

Flexible work schedule, family like work atmosphere, and independence with job duties. Home health can be intimidating due to the amount of independence needed to complete visits without constant supervision. There are always others willing to assist, answer questions, or lend a helping hand when needed.

CHP is a positive work environment. Staff work well as a team and are willing to always lend a helping hand. Great job for needing a balance between work and home life as management is flexible for appointments, family emergencies. Nurses do not have to work many weekends which is a plus!

A lot of great people work at CHP, including several who've worked here for many years. It's a family-like atmosphere with a dedicated group committed to the company's mission. The workplace culture is mostly enjoyable and the flexibility in scheduling is good. Management can be controlling and tends to micromanage at times. You have to be service-minded to enjoy working here. It's a nonprofit, so pay cannot be your main motivation. Unfortunately, we often don't receive even a cost of living pay increase. That said, the company tries to reward, incentivize, and take care of employees.
