Special Education Teacher (Former Employee) – Hopkinsville, KY – July 10, 2013
I enjoyed working with middle school students with severe disabilities. I had the opportunity to grow with them and their families. I learned a lot of information about them and how to effectively teach them from their families. I also had the opportunity to teach them job training skills, so when they graduated they would be able to seek employment through the help of the job coarch and vocational services. I also had to make modifications to the curriculum in order for them to understand the Standards and develop the Alternate Assessments for all 10th - 12th graders with the help of my two assistance whom did not mind jumping in with both feet and helping do what they could for the students. The whole focus was about the students and ensuring they learned to their maximum potential. The challenging part was developing manipulatives that worked for each individual student.
