Entry level ONLY
Outpatient Therapist (Former Employee) –  Fort Lauderdale, FLOctober 16, 2018
I would recommend this company to entry-level clinicians who are thirsty for knowledge as they would benefit from the trainings offered, and the supervision for licensure if that is what you seek.

PTO is only accumulated substantially if you make a certain amount of hours in the month, which is nearly impossible due to clients canceling all the time. It took me 9 months to accumulate 8 hours. The insurance policies are disproportionate for the salary earned. Mileage/gas is not reimbursed. The work culture is you are isolated, on the road all the time. Yes, you may call your supervisor at times to discuss issues with clients and you get supervision. However, mine was gone half the time on trainings and seemed more interested in her own specialty than anything else.

I would NOT recommend this company to more experienced clinicians, who need a steadier income and real benefits for quality work-like balance.
Pros
Flexible schedule, supervision for licensure, trainings
Cons
Clients cancel a LOT, no real PTO, no holidays, mileage not reimbursed.

Amazing staff/support, but pay is awful when ACTUAL hrs are factored in..
Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Broward County, FLFebruary 10, 2018
Unfortunately, working for a non-profit that does SO much for the community is NOT going to bring extrinsic rewards ($$$,) but the intrinsic rewards are endless!! You can make your own schedule, as long as your schedule perfectly accommodates the availability of your clients.
Pros
Intrinsic rewards, supportive staff.
Cons
The term "non-profit" refers to the salary... =/

Lead Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Lake Worth, FLJanuary 18, 2018
This company is a complete mess. From the high turnover rate to the lack of support, to the heavy case load and high level of unpaid work, it is amazing how this company is still in business. If you choose to work here, be prepared for absolutely no work to personal life balance. You will be expected to be available nearly 24/7 while only being paid for billable hours (seeing clients, treatment plan reviews). Your gas is not compensated and you will be expected to drive hours each day to make way less than what you're worth. You will be zoned for one area and be expected to see clients who live 30 min to 1 hour or more away. There is no consistency, no room for advancement, and no support. The turnover rate is so high and clients are constantly being transferred to new therapists due to how many resign. Low pay, no sick days, hardly any benefits, barely anyone has worked here past 3 years.

Additionally, this company preaches self care, yet there is no time to engage in self care with how much they expect you to work. One of my colleagues passed away from a heart attack due to the stress of this job. I have been in a serious car accident because of how much I was on the road due to this job. This job has caused me depression and PTSD and I am finally caring for myself and getting out of this chaos.
Pros
nothing
Cons
Depression, Ptsd, unpaid work, no sick days, working 24/7

Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLNovember 20, 2017
Only get paid if your client actually shows up, no real structure or clinical supervision. Not recommended. Would not have been as bad if supervisor had been helpful or even given attention to therapists needs rather than paperwork. If you like working for a company that only cares about paperwork this is your kinda job.
Pros
Paid training
Cons
supervisors self involved

Love Chrysalis! <3
Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLSeptember 29, 2017
Chrysalis is an amazing company... with an amazing management team and culture. But being a outpatient therapist is difficult.. from getting patients to commit to sessions and then coordinating everything. Paid for service... which makes making your bottom line sometimes difficult. But overall ... I love Chrysalis... and just wish compensation was better,

Great opportunities for growth!
Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLSeptember 20, 2017
I enjoy working here. It is a challenge but definitely doable. The only challenge is the driving. It becomes a challenge trying to balance personal schedules with work life however all in all you get an abundance of learning opportunities here especially as a first time clinician.
Pros
Training, Great learning opportunities for green therapists
Cons
driving, balancing schedules, meeting weekly quotas

Outpatient Lead Therapist (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJune 7, 2017
Chrysalis advertises as a great place to work but eventually becomes cumbersome for clinicians to manage schedule and made ends meet with wear and tear on the vehicle.
Cons
healthcare too expensive to afford and minimal compensation

Outpatient Therapist (Former Employee) –  Fort Lauderdale, FLMay 29, 2017
Working with this company made me understand the difference in for profit companies and not-for-profit companies. This company was about money for the company. However, the one pro is that they offered fantastic trainings for the therapists.

Everyone there seems ok, but the administrative staff appear friendly but the managing are not. They rather for profit and push you to do extra work.
Outpatient Therapist (Former Employee) –  FloridaJanuary 4, 2017
No friendly at all, more gear towards competition instead of helping the clients. The staff are pretentenders, not genuine. tHE MANAGING STAFF ARE ALL FRAUD, THEY ARE ARE NOT GENUINE.
Pros
the place look nice
Cons
staff need to be down to earth

Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Palm Beach County, FLSeptember 20, 2016
After working with this company for over a year, I can say that I do so much more work than what I get paid for. It's so many hours in the car (gas is not reimbursed) and completing unpaid paperwork requirements that are constantly changing.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Low pay, unpaid work, isolation

Great company
Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Broward CountyOctober 12, 2015
I have worked here for 7 months now and supervisors are always there if you need them to offer support and guidance. Your schedule is flexible and what you make of it and requires you to be able to accommodate to some extent to your client's schedules too but there is a lot of freedom that comes with this kind of set up, you are basically your own boss and don't have to deal with office politics much. The pay is fair and they provide a lot of incentives as well as bonuses monthly, your salary can get raised yearly if you meet certain standards. If you have a complaint they listen and will try to make changes to the company based on your feedback. There is a lot of trainings so is great if you are starting out as a therapist, supervision for those working towards their licensure is free if you meet certain amount of hours monthly which I always do.
Pros
bonuses, flexible hours, freedom, you don't have to deal with office politics.
Cons
no paid vacation

Pretty tough
Outpatient Therapist (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLJuly 15, 2015
A fee for service type employment, Chrysalis is a for profit company looking to expand their organization. As such, the profit margins will come at the expense of you, the worker. You will get paid for people you see, no more, no less. This also includes not getting paid for travel, extra paperwork, and any other necessary requirements in this type of field. It is very difficult work with little financial reward. There is a very high turnover rate in this company for field employees due to these problems.
