It started out fun and easy but eventually I started having to fill a lot of job roles up that I was not assigned to originally while other people still barely had to do anything and made like $2 more than me. Started giving me way shorter breaks than any other co worker.
ITS AN AMAZING FIRST JOB TO HAVE AS LONG AS YOU DO YOUR SIDE OF THE JOB. The only thing is sometime people are very bad at remembering their job. BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH ITS LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!! ITS A FAMILY!
I enjoyed working here, gm was great, job duties were fun. Responsibilities constantly shift and it will definitely kept you on your toes. A lot of standing and walking, will keep you fit for sure.
I work as a gameroom attendant, so managers expect me to be out and about at all times. We do this thing called game tap, where you essentially play all the games to make sure they work. This can be done kinda quickly, and once you're done, unless you're asked to do something else like "waking up Chuck E." or taking out trash, you can just sit around until gameroom gets dirty again. You're expected to clean a lot throughout the day, it's gameroom's job to buss all the tables in the gameroom and sweep. When closing time comes, make sure the tables are clean, floors are swept, games are cleaned from top to bottom, as well as the insides of them (we have about 50 games, it can get overwhelming at times). On weekdays this process is very slow and kind of relaxing, but on weekends, it can get very hectic. Management at our location gets a 6/10. They're pretty nice, but they don't really keep their employees in check. I was able to become a Team 2 Trainer pretty easily just because I was one of the very few that actually did the job to their expectations. Because of this, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that actually helps, and it puts a lot of pressure on your shoulders over time. Becoming a trainer comes with a raise of about 50 cents, and that's really the only raise you can get unless you get promoted to manager. For normal cast members the employee discount is 50%, but for Team 2 Trainers, you get a free meal every shift. Overall, I believe the pay is very unfair for the work I put in, but the pay is corporate's decision. I often feel pretty gross and exhausted with a migraine by the end of every weekend shift, and I don't think that's fair for only being paid $10.75 an hour.
What is the best part of working at the company? Finally in a Manager Role. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When the stuff hits the fan and shoving orders left and right in at the same time. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Recently finished with a remodel. Nearly everything is clean. Now it's just keeping it clean. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Making sure all bases are covered. Then helping for back up.
