Global Support Supervisor, Operations in Chicago, IL
Seems great until you get in
While working for Meraki seems amazing, it is truly a grass is greener situation. Upper management in departments is a joke and constantly shove empty promises your way instead of actually fixing the situation. There is always the passing of the buck and putting the blame on big Cisco rather than taking accountability for the issues. Middle management is untrained and typically does not have management experience.
Cisco exceeds employee expectations and has a very inclusive culture. Work is difficult but it's also rewarding. We learn something new everyday and really enjoy best in class technology.

Cool coworkers and Interesting work
A typical day was showing up and working on some problem. Getting lunch with coworkers and then working a bit more. Taking a coffee break then doing some more coding until it was time to hang out after work and play board games.

Productive fun workplace, but No raises
Overall the company is great. The Only issue is contracted employees that work with Cisco / Meraki do Not receive yearly raises for about 5-6 yrs or more.

Worst work/life balance job I had so far
Too much stress for the salary given, this exactly the job that you will feel that you are just a number there and will be replaced in a heartbeat.
San Francisco is super expensive city and they don’t offer annual salary adjustments. Some old managers has mental issues.
