Laborer/Driver (Former Employee) – Alexandria, VA – May 13, 2018
Not a good place to work. Management in the T&ES division needs replaced. They only care about them selves. Plus the pay isn't good at all. They want you to be able to preform all job duties and tasks without having the proper man power or tools. Another thing is if you want any overtime. You have to hang out with management after hours and really be liked by them. Not fair at all. Really consider your job options before committing to this job. City of Alexandria...... NOT THE WAY TO GO........
Director Department of General Services (Former Employee) – Alexandria, VA – August 14, 2017
The City of Alexandria is a great place to work. As a senior manager I was able to participate in so many activities and projects that enhanced the city while at the same time giving me the opportunity to grow and use my creativity. The City Managers office was fully supportive and worked to help get things done
Great Senior team cooperation and support, great benefits

Administrative Analyst (Current Employee) – Alexandria, VA – June 18, 2015
City government provides great job satisfaction. One is able to work for the public in a very tangible way. However, leadership still has a very strict mentality on how processes should be done with low desire to change to adapt. The City needs more solid leadership that can stand behind staff supporting change to streamline processes.
