Poor management

Work is awesome but the management is not where it is suppose to be. People are being hired without any work related experience. Right now as of 5 years back from today workers are not certified and yet they are still there. I am certified and was let go for reasons not true.

Good place to work

Patron System, benefits cancelled like tuition reimbursement, Health Insurance used to be free, now they charge you and every year the price goes higher.

Has the potential of being a great work place

Although the salary and benefits are competitive, the work place itself is toxic and advancement depends mostly on politics and who you know or are related to. Management professes to provide opportunities for staff, but the phrase has become cliche. Politics is deeply imbedded and the job depends on doing what is seemingly popular rather than what is right. I was very disappointed during my tenure.

Hate working there

They are all people from Mexico and they are different in the sense that nobody speaks English and they do not like people who do, they feel you need to adapt to them

Fun enviroment

Working for the City of Laredo was an awesome experience for a teenager. When looking to advance in the company, I would not recommend. They do work with school hours, so as a student it would be an awesome job.
