Overall, it's an enjoyable work environment. A lot of the upper leadership, though, sadly work more to avoid uncomfortable situations than push for change. They'll talk the talk, but not walk the walk.Examples include:Running an analysis to assess the city's pay rates as compared to the market in November 2021 and failing to act on the information.Implementing HPO for the organization and conti...

The managers and supervisors try to treat everyone with the same respect and fairness. It’s fairly easy to find a cover for a shift and the scheduling app is easy to use.

The schedule is outstanding, the benefits and retirement are unbeatable. Training is hard, but it's a job you never have to take home. Lots of time off but can tough on family life due to the hours (5a-5p or 5p-5a, Sun-Tues or Wed-Fri, and alternating Saturdays).
Business Analyst in McKinney, TX
on November 8, 2022
My experience in the role I was in was probably the worst job I've ever had. The manager was very demeaning; didn't truly understand what a business analyst does, nor supportive in any way. Let's just say I had to get permission to take the allowed 15 minute breaks. I was happy the day I resigned. Since my time 4 others have left.

Great coworkers and manager. A lot of meetings to keep employees updated on city matters/ projects. Decent pay and benefits. Communication with other city departments is open.
