Director, Dept. of Traffic and Parking (Former Employee) – Norwalk, CT – May 3, 2012
Good place to Work. A typical day for me included issuing driveway permits and inspecting completed driveways. I learned the science of creating intersection capacity and safety improvements, including grading, drainage, lane arraingements, lighting, signage and signalization, if warranted. The management of 15 years ago was evolving. There was a ten year transition period from the 'old school' to the 'new school.' Certain 'empowered' individuals needed to be on a shorter leach. I have no direct knowledge of current management conditions. My co-workers were quite friendly, supportive and helpfull. The hardest part of the job was being forced into playing 'office politics,' especially around election time. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the public and the property developers.
