As in the world of government, be patient. There are some perks such as health care, holidays, and pension. Training is sparse, in many clerical positions you may be overwhelmed and understaffed. Middle management can be a exempt position without a union backing- the Manger can be employed at the will of the Director or Mayor. Other managers or supervisors belong to a union. The Commissionors rarely have “hands on” training as to the nuts and bolts of the department, therefore making any change(s) slow and one should be open to adopting new computer programs that can be “Frankensteined” together before it is implemented.
Good. All governmental entities are basically the same.
