West Sacramento (Current Employee) – West Sacramento – July 9, 2018
Not a bad place to work, but it could be better. benefits are good if you are single--- if you have to add a dependent or two you'll be broke. the pay scale is also not up to par with other current cities in the area
nice staff, flexible hours, growing city
health care benefits, advancement opportunities are slim, no benefits or help with continuing education.
Great fun place to work for. The City Manager is very nice and knowledgeable.
Application Developer Intern (Former Employee) – West Sacramento, CA – July 12, 2017
Great atmosphere and people are excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better work environment. Assistant City Manager does little contests for fun gifts. There is always something going on or to do. Employee picnic and events are plentiful. Only drawback is there is not much advancement. You will need to move around or find other jobs to move up. Most people stick with their job until retirement.
The city was a fun place to work. The management treated their employee with respect and acknowledge their employees.
Secretary/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – West Sacramento, CA – June 15, 2017
A typical day would involve opening the front office so the public can come in and make their inquires. What I have learned from working at this department, most of the public and residents are happy and satisfied with the service we provided. The management team really care for their employee and takes acknowledgement for work well done. It is and was a pleasant place to work at and I enjoyed working with them; they are like my second family away from home. The hardest part of the job is when trying to meet a deadline working with Application Support Specialist team on implementing a new records management database from scratch so that it can be more user friendly.
