Associate Kindergarten Teacher (Former Employee) – Bronx, NY – June 10, 2018
Working at Classical is very rewarding in the classroom, but you must also adhere to a very structured way of work. The management is very much top down and to some degree micro-aggressions rise because of this. —however if you are a hard worker you get a lot of working there and there is lots of room to grow.
Long hours, competitive salary, administrative support

Typical work days are from 6:30/7a - 4:30/5:30p plus planning outside of work.
The administration is in full support of their teachers, the deans fully support the staff and show up when needed.
Teachers are observed weekly by an IC and GTL. Teachers are given a once a month half day of PD. Teachers are constantly creating goals to work on.
School culture varies based on location. Some schools the culture is great, teachers interact and socialize and enjoy communicating with the administration. Other schools the culture is cold, teachers keep to themselves or have hesitations about expressing concerns or needs to administration, it all depends on the specific administration personnel at the school.

Office staff is worked to death. Management sucks. They expect you to live your lfe there taking care of kids that are not yours. There is only an half hour lunch break and you are mandated to work 7am- 5pm. They do not tell you this when you are interviewed.
