Assistant principals are very supportive and will help with professional development goals. Class sizes are getting bigger. The most challenging part is the increasing number of responsibilities placed on teachers.
Pros
coworkers are supportive, students, popcorn Fridays
Cons
growing classes, students, lots of meetings

CTE Classroom Teacher (Current Employee) –  Friendswood, TXMarch 25, 2018
The increased testing stress has made it somewhat of a hostile environment. I expect this to be the case statewide I suppose with the threat of less funding etc. Personally after 10 years in this district, I am considering a change in career.
Pros
Great ideas and support
Cons
Can be stressful and threatening based on testing results.

If you like a community feel at work, then CCISD is the place for you. The community is very tight knit and involved in every aspect of the school plant. There are tremendous rewards given by the education foundation as well as from community restaurants.

you are transporting students to and from school in a timely manner and safety is a big deal with having a lot of students on a bus at once. you have to get them to school safely and also make sure the students are being safe on the bus as well.

Special Education Teacher (Current Employee) –  Friendswood, TXMay 10, 2012
A typical day is extremely busy filled with various schedules and times in which my students participate in various academic activities. Management is very supportive and are available at all times of the day for assistance. My co-workers are equally driven and share a common interest in the students. The hardest part of my job is managing time for the ARD paperwork and preparing for the staffing and ARD's. The most enjoyable part of the job is working with the students and laughing and enjoying their sense of humor.
Pros
summers free to spend with children and family.
Cons
healthcare premiums are high.
