Residential Youth Counselor (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHApril 29, 2019
This place use to be great, but because workers are not paid, and over worked, the turn over is high, and everything goes down hill from there, I think its too late to turn this place around.
Pros
If you can control your unit, and you are respected you will have easy days.
Cons
Favoritism. Have to work double shifts for decent paycheck

3rd Shift Unit Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHMarch 6, 2019
This is a stress free environment and very friendly atmosphere. The most enjoyable thing is working with the youth and staff on a daily basis. The flexible work schedule is important as well.

Treatment Specialist (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHDecember 18, 2018
Have to ask co-workers to covers your days off supervisors or management will not assign staff. Family members pass and management will not even support workers at funeral services. Staff abuse and treat kids horrible. Poor supervision of kids, staff sleep on the job and don't get fired. The only good thing about the job is leaving the company before ruining you psychologically. Management never meets with staff.
Pros
Pay check
Cons
Not effective with helping the kids. Just a holding facility.

Great supervisor, lousy agency
Community Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Cleveland, OHNovember 10, 2018
They try. But they just don’t know how to run an agency, except into the ground. Coworkers and colleagues were great. I had an excellent supervisor. But overall, the agency is not going to make it.
Pros
Coworkers, clients

Not sure why there are so many poor reviews
AoD therapist (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHDecember 22, 2017
I have been with CCH for over four years, and I absolutely love working here. There are issues in any place of employment, so read the negative reviews with caution, as I would guess they are from disgruntled employees. This job is challenging, yet so rewarding. I have been in the field over 25 years and can’t picture myself working anywhere else. They have a decent compensation package and a team approach to working with these high risk kiddos.
Pros
Great team
Cons
Not a lot of immediate gratification

The most enjoyable part of the job
Volunteer Job (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHOctober 6, 2017
The most enjoyable part of the job was to able help people and help clean up around the Cleveland Christian Home. Also to just do something in the community with my church and youth group. Helping out the Cleveland Christian Home was an first time experience as a volunteer and knowing that I love working with others and helping them out.

Support staff (Current Employee) –  Cleveland, OHJune 26, 2017
Anyone entering this field should know that it will never be a regular 9-5 type of job, due to the nature of the clients and families that we work with. If you really want to help kids and their families, then this is a place to work.... and no, you're not going to get immediate gratification. You may never know you changed someone's life.
Pros
Free lunch and dinner, OT available almost all the time

Internship
Internship (Former Employee) –  Cleveland, OHJuly 12, 2015
For my internship, I volunteered at Cleveland Christian Home. It was a wonderful experience and I learned that they do a lot for children who are troubled, have mental disorders or both. They collect toys for them so they could have Christmas's, birthdays and other celebrated holidays. Its a non profit organization, so they count on the donations of others.
Pros
They donate to children, they collect items for children and they help troubled children
Cons
Because they are non profit, they have to count on the donations of others.
