Great Place
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - November 15, 2023
CPL was a great experience for me. While the pay was not exceptional, the company demonstrated a genuine concern for its employees. Punctuality is crucial, but as there is little direct supervision, self-motivation is key.

Jobs at Clinical Pathology Laboratories
Great job opportunity
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) - Denton, TX - October 26, 2023
I started here with no experience and overall it was a great place. I was taught by the best of the best. however, there was an issue with me being forced to "float". It was an issue because I was pregnant and experiencing complications- I didnt want the added stress of never knowing where I'd be and not knowing the set up of locations. When I brought it up with management they basically said its part of it. When I asked management why I wasnt told in my interview I'd be heavily floated, I was told that I probably would have lied and said it was okay. My response was "No. I wouldnt have. I would have been honest, but I wasnt given that opportunity." Other than not providing realistic expectations, I learned a lot and enjoyed my job.

I've worked here more than once
Phelbotomist (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - September 12, 2023
Where I worked, location wise was fabulous! I loveed my co-workers and my Patients! The time before when I worked there was great as well. This last time around was NOT what CPL is and it goes all the way to the top in this region. There's nothing about equality or advancement for you. The Upper Management keeps their thumbs on absolutely every single thing you do and micromanages your every move. That made it impossible to do anything.
Pros
The Patients
Cons
Upper Management

Okay place to work for
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) - Beaumont, TX - September 12, 2023
I like what I do just not the people or management. Management is friends with most coworker’s so they can do what others get penalized for. They are messy to be an older generation of folks.
Pros
The pay
Cons
Management

Decent work, no frills
Specimen Processor (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - September 1, 2023
The team is generally great, management is good/fine. Pay is decent. It's not riveting work, but it's not difficult. Not a lot of advancement room, but plenty of lateral moves if you want to try different roles out. Nice to listen to music while you work.

Theres always work in the company, but no room for advancement.
Phlebotomist (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - August 31, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Meeting the different co-workers I would work with throughout the years. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Limited supplies when we really need them. Having to take two hour lunches when I had overtime. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Its laid back for most of the time. Supervisors are not on top of you unless doing an audit. What is a typical day like for you at the company? If your at a busy site, it stays busy in the A.M. Then during the afternoon it tense to slow down. No over is permitted.

Toxic Work Environment
Other (Former Employee) - Addison, TX - June 6, 2023
Please don't consider this company as a place of employment, they don't care about the employee's all they care about is making money and getting their bonus for they year. Just one example of they don't care they will give a 3 cent raise but have money to buy out other company's.
Pros
None
Cons
Makes you feel like a slave.

They are willing to train you and give you an opportunity
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) - Iowa, LA - June 4, 2023
They will try their best to provide you coverage when its time to take off. They need to hire extra people for back up, when a Lab station is very busy...A great company to work for. I work for them 15 yrs. I stop due to 2 full knee replacement surgeries. I have been gone for 2 years. I have 40 years of experience..

Took a horrible on my mental health. Good luck.
Senior Phlebotomist (Former Employee) - Wichita Falls, TX - May 10, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The nurses I got to work beside for years were amazing and made coming to work everyday beyond enjoyable. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Horrible management and company that doesn’t care about their employees one bit. You’re nothing but a body, a number. No one cares about you. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Awful. Toxic. I wouldn’t recommend it. No morale. No one cares. It’s bad on and to your mental health, blood pressure. Etc. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Would dread going in. This company expects loyalty, for you to go above and beyond and give you crumbs to work with.

awful management
Specimen Processor (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - May 9, 2023
No leadership staff cares about you or the work being done. Everything and everyone is unorganized. When processing samples they don't follow OSHA protocols at all. It's not a lab, it's a warehouse.

Great benefits but Judgmental trainers
Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant (Former Employee) - Austin - May 3, 2023
It started out well, HR and the recruiters communicated well and with reasonable timing. However, within a week I could tell that the trainers were becoming judgmental and had many shortcomings. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend working here, because they make you feel like you failed over and over again.
Pros
PTO and 401k with 3% match after 90 days
Cons
Judgmental employees
