Decent work place if you’re the right fit

Indeed Featured review

Family run business that serves thousands of members. Fun and caring environment for the most part with a few hiccups here and there. The benefits are alright- good 401k match and free membership. Salaries are lower than one would expect.

Great team spirit

There is a very supportive and collaborative staff. Many employees are part-time, many are long-term. Has a strong community vibe for both staff and clients. Great benefit is membership. Fun team building activities such as Pickleball Friday’s, softball league, etc.

Nice place to work

Friendly people will make this job enjoyable. You have to put the work in to meet people and build clientele. Overall amazing, family environment. When I was in Briarcliff, the fitness director was the best woman I've ever worked with. Other departments are good too.

Great workplace with awesome coworkers. Commission for personal trainers could be higher.

Awesome gym to work at with great benefits and coworkers. Great work/life balance with understanding managers. Commission for personal trainers are lower then other gyms and not a lot of CEU opportunities.

Great coworkers and members

Commission is lower then normal

Dead end job.

A great facility to meet people and work out at. A horrible place to work for with no room for advancement or pay raises. They constantly change schedules and will overwork you to death. They claim they pay overtime, but they don't. Nor do they ever explain or give good reasons as to why when approached. Then they will try to make you work doubles after reducing your hours to make time up you lost. A big run around if there ever was one. But it's a GYM atmosphere and maybe you shouldn't expect much from that kind of retail like setting...

Small business, not open to changing with new demographic. Age out, need to make changes but refuse to and losing members to new updated gyms.

Needs work, the club needs to be updated. Need new fresh minds to re-vamp the company. Communication could use work, and the front line staff needs more guidance and more opportunity for advancement.

Free use of gym, good PTO.

Subpar benefits, stagnant work day.

Okay depending on your position. offers good flexibility and childcare though. could be more generous with wages and benefits. long hours when your department is understaffed.

Good place to work

Overall it was a good place to work. Management team is ready to help which is nice to see. If each department had adequate staffing, they could do even better.

Flexible Workplace

Club Fit allows employees to create their own schedules if they are part time and is very flexible. Compensation could be improved, as the area has a high cost of living.

Good place to work

Club fit is a great place to work. They also like to hire their own for higher positions. They take care of you, but not extremely. I liked working there, and felt a part of a team. The only problem with the club is not the employee but the guests. They are ridiculous sometimes and rude, though some can be super sweet.

Great Place to work

Great Place to work. You meet many great people here and the workout environment is a positive one. The equipment is state of the art. The hours of operation are perfect.

Iffy Job

You will mostly be doing all of the work most coworkers sit and do nothing. Men coworkers like to flirt a lot and bother female coworkers which management doesn't seem to see.

Not worth it

The rooms are trashy, dirty closets. You’re expected to sit around and not get paid. Management was never there. Everything was outdated and smelled like mildew.

Friendly Co-Workers

Shifts will get covered if you need them to be covered. The other staff are very friendly and will talk to you while you are on your break. If an emergency comes up people are willing to step up.

Ok place to work. Trust no one.

Not much to say. Cool people work there. Owners are crazy and unappreciative of all that staff do. I don’t think they know everyone by name nor do I think they care too.

Easy commute

Low Pay and Fake Management

A typical day as a lifeguard at the Club Fit pools was simple. The hardest thing you would really ever have to do was shut down and clean the pool after a member accidentally released any bodily solids or liquids into the pool which was very rare. Most enjoyable part of the job is meeting and getting to know all your fellow lifeguards and the members of the Club. The workplace culture wasn't very good. Some of the management never really cared to get to know there employees and was very quick to pick the side of a members argument rather than their own workers. Very unauthentic and unappreciative attitudes with some of the management. I also got payed a lot less compared to lifeguards who were only seasonal and there a fraction of the time I was there.

This was a famiy owned local neighborhood fitness center.

Club Fit was in business for 33 years. Lifelong friendships grew from the business. Club Fit employed kids from high school, several whom moved on to become police officers. Club Fit had original members from the day the business opened. The members were considered family members not just members who belong to Club Fit.

Its a good club, but i am not crazy about working behind a desk. I am more of an on the go person. But the atmosphere is good and is a great place to work.

Hot and hard to breathe

members can be really rude but you also make some awesome connections working there. Going to miss the members when I move on to a new job. Hoping to be able to still teach

Good place to work

Was a good place to work, especially when needing a job fresh out of college. There was a high turnover in managers and in coworkers though, and standards weren't always enforced the same per person.

Good side job

perfect if you need something to do with your spare five hours. Not that difficult to grasp, and you're eye level with your ceiling after about a month. growth is hard to come by, and thst's why it's more suited for people still in school who are looking for a quick buck, but nothing too serious
