Driver Merchandiser Worse Nightmare
CDL Class A Driver / Merchandiser (Current Employee) –  Fort Pierce, FLMarch 25, 2019
As a CDL Class A driver you are given the oldest and possibly worse trucks to drive. They have trucks from 1998 with no AC as part of their fleet. Most of the equipments that are designed to help a driver perform the jobs are inoperable or defective and makes the job even harder. This job requires at least 2 people per truck due to work load. You get to push 600+ pound up ramps into customers (stores) establishment with no help and stacked more than 6ft high which caused merchandise to fall 60% of the time in which driver has to spend the time to pick up 30+ cases off the ground and re-stack them. Almost every client are disappointed with Coke and their services. Orders are always wrong and or upset at drivers for not doing the job right. As a driver you must merchandise (load coolers and shelves) at smaller stores but the time given and the amount of stops (12-18) makes it nearly impossible to do the job efficiently. You must rush through every stops and even then not enough time. You start at 4am and finish by 4 or 5pm. Top management claims the routes were design for 1 driver. I guess since he never drove, he would never know what drivers experience especially with these horrible equipment provided. The possibility of getting hurt in this job is 120% likely due to physicality and bad equipment. You are not provided an assign truck so every day you're in a different truck which can cause issues since not all drivers takes care of the trucks. Coca Cola Beverages claims to be part of the #3 brand in the world but they behave as a company that is struggling and cannot afford  more... proper equipment so workers can do their jobs properly. There is much more issues so do yourself a favor and stay away from this company unless you really don't have any other options. If you do choose to work there rest assure that you will be paid on time and lots of overtime to make extra money but you will be over worked and stressed  less
Pros
3 weeks vacation and lots of overtime if you like to work 60hrs a week
Cons
Bad equipment, bad reputation with clients, upper management does not care about drivers, It's all about getting the delivery done

Upper mgmt doesn’t have a clue what is going on at street level. Atlanta needs to take Florida back before CCBF destroys the Coca-Cola. I’ve been with Coca-Cola for over 30yrs and this is the worst work environment I have ever seen. Do not work for CCBF.

Become injured you are fired. Daily numbers metric is unnatainable unless your manager fudges numbers for you.
Delivery Driver Merchandiser (Former Employee) –  Fort Myers, FLJune 12, 2019
Everyone who reports an injury no matter how it happens gets terminated.
New hires are paid a higher rate than those with years of experience. Old trucks exceeding 200,000 miles. Work days are 14 hours. Trucks are not always loaded on time due to massive warehouse turnover.
Buddy system in full effect to detriment.
Employees are overworked due to constant turnover.
Often work past DOT hours then time is fudged in the system. Productivety is measured from clock in till clockout. Time waiting to check out or in will negatively affect your productivety metric. Zero consideration for traffic or breakdowns either. Unless you have your manager manually add time to your productivety metric. For this to be effective you need to submit a lost time log and he needs to remember to do it. Exhausting to keep up with on a daily basis.
You must clock out for lunch 30 minutes. It is unpaid. You will need to continue working as you desperately need those 30 minutes to attain the minimum 90% productivety.
Yes, new hires join the company at up to $4 per hour MORE than the driver training them.
Many trucks are stick shifft without a/c.
Pros
Pay is good.
Cons
No a/c in many trucks, Different truck or trailer on any given day, Long hours up to 14 per day, Trucks loaded poorly most of the time, Dispatching is terrible, Everything that is not locked up gets stolen, Some guys have 4 carts locked up and you may be lucky to even get 1, Drivers often out to get other drivers.
