You could submit an application, be interviewed and hired within a week. The training process includes a day of onboarding (paperwork, email account creation, etc), then a three day orientation that covers an agency overview as well as training on Trauma Informed Care, Chemical Dependency, Positive Youth Development, Boundaries, and much more. Then new staff continue their training in the program their were hired for to have hands on experience in the work. Staff cannot work alone until their fully clear their background check, which can be as short as a month and as long as several months (the longer you have lived in Washington, and the cleaner someones legal history, the shorter the background check process). Having legal issues in your past DOES NOT exclude you from being hired, or excelling at Cocoon House.
