Some great people working there. And a very cool platform. Lack of management and the patriarchy is strong with this one. Good benefits package and quick growth.

Pro Advisor, & Project Reviewer, Course Moderator (Current Employee) –  New YorkMarch 11, 2018
I worked as an online advisor, project reviewer, and slack moderator for codecademy. The job is great if you need very flexible work hours and location, because you basically set your own hours and can work fully remotely! That being said, you don't get paid a ton considering that you're teaching a very skilled job and there are no benefits. Management is often slow to get in touch with and they don't offer paid training when new lessons come out, so you're kind of expected to learn things on your own time.
Pros
flexible hours, location
Cons
mediocre pay, no benefits

Helped students learn the basics of coding. Little oversight, little room for growth. I would suggest using this position as a stepping stone to something more long-term.

No chance to advance, they are restructuring a bit. Limited hours and no benefits.

Too many courses to properly support. No access to new course material before hand in order to support users properly.

My review is solely on being a student with them. After doing many other free and paid sites, Codecademy seemed to have the most engaging method of teaching/learning. I have decent computer skills going in, and some are too basic while others leave you confused. Codecademy give you plenty of opportunities to practice the topics you learn in lifelike situations (you actually create websites for fictitious employers, with projects all along the way). Highly recommended!
Pros
Many free lessons, inexpensive options, great supports

Code Adviser and Content Creator (Current Employee) –  RemoteNovember 16, 2016
It helped me pay my way through college and get some good experience doing it. Very flexible and great environment. Management is fair and supportive, not at all hovering or paranoid.
