Senior Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – Hunt Valley, MD – June 18, 2018
Multi-tasking work and assisting others. Nice group of people in the department that I worked for. I enjoyed helping people with their daily administrative needs and training other administrative assistants.
Its an accounting firm, so in busy season its fast paced, and they expect about 70 hours per week. A lot of times you will be told that the overseer doesn't have time to teach and to just 'figure it out'.
You get the opportunity to work with some great people.
They would rather fire you than train you, Internal communication is awful, nobody wants to teach new hires
DIRECTOR (Former Employee) – New York, NY – October 31, 2017
If it were not for the constant acquisitions and rebranding the place would be great! It was a 50bn+ investment manager at one point. The broker/dealer arm went through many trials. They have the right idea in many respects but made a number of mistakes.
Audit Accounting Intern (Former Employee) – Saint Clair Shores, MI – August 17, 2017
I was an intern and did not know a lot of things at first, but everyone was willing to help even during the busy season. They have a very friendly environment. Most offices have some entertainment place such as ping pong table. Company wide also have the "happy hour" every Friday around 4 in the afternoon where people can have the chance to end the week, or the day if they have to work Saturday, with a cold beer at the office.
Free lunches every Saturday, Happy hour every Friday after 4
A typical day in an accounting firm can be very routine but during tax season hold on to your hat. The hours can be long and you are dealing with very sensitive information but it is also amazing when dealing with tax codes and how individuals interprete them.
free beverages, good health benefits, great people
