Make sure you ask the right person the question

If you have a question it is a good idea to know who to ask ahead and have a list of questions for this person. This way you will not be chased all over the floor and get the job done in time!

Hard work does not payoff!!

Collin’s is getting to be to corporized and to be honest the money is just not there anymore. You try to do the best you can and learn as much as you can but it only hurts you in the long run. For them it easier to deal with the harder workers then actually make some people do there job. Heard complaints like this from employees for last 5 years thinking it would be different for me.

3 weeks vacation starting

1 terrible raise a year. But hey next year might be better.

Interesting field of work

The pay rate should be higher for the type of industry and employees that have acquired additional education should be allowed to advance. Managers need to recommend employee growth and not always look outside of the current employees. Hire within method is lacking.

Nice break room, clean environment, overtime

no growth, need higher pay, vacation is pick and somtiimes request is denied

Great Place to work for!

Zero micromanagement. They make you have self worth. They push you to do your best and find resources if you feel you need them. The ability to work remote is a plus!

No accountability and hardest growth opportunities

I used to always want to work at collins until I did. They have so many road blocks in place to prevent growth. They have pay bands in place and will automatically reject your application if the job you’re applying for is two levels higher than your current role even if you have the knowledge and experience to do it. They also allow leaders that either step down or forced down to keep their pay so this creates a less than good morale in the company. The company has almost no accountability but expects their hard workers to do their work on top of the lazy coworkers that refuse to do their work. I would only recommend this company to new people out of college this company is not a great place anymore to work for. Only thing keeping me here is a pay check and health benefits.

Good company

Good company average salary very good benefits 3 vacation weeks from the first year thru the 10th year. One more week after that plus you will be able to buy one. Medical insurance cost went down 50% from 2 years before. Great benefits for the salary employees but not that great for bargaining union employees. Only pro for the union pay scales higher than other companies Plus bonus from time to time.

Overworked and Underpaid

Mandatory weekends and overtime, constant schedule changing, high stress environment, and management that isn't there to support staff.

Terrible management

I would never request anyone to apply for this company never. The management team hired all of their family and friends and give them special opportunities.

Easy work

Terrible management

Leadership needs work

Decent company but merges cause rippled effect of lay offs and leadership breakdown . I think it depends on what business you work for as well because some are more mature than others

Hybrid working environment?

If your idea of hybrid is working 8+ hours per day five days per week in the office then this is the hybrid for you. We were told it was 2-4 days per week and for a while it was but changes are coming and the cowards at the top handed down a directive with no information for the managers to hand out without any explanation leaving the lower level managers unable to answer any questions. Can't say if it's all of Raytheon Technologies or just Collins in Winston-Salem but either way management is cowardly and leaves the bad news to underlings with zero support.

Hybrid work used to be a pro but not anymore.

Managements communication to employees is horrid. Wage increases are far behind inflation.

Excellent pay and education opportunities

The Aerospace industry as a whole is fairly immature in the area of Lean methodologies, quality engineering, and scientific management, and Collins is no exception. However, current parent company Raytheon is doing a good job in supporting development in those areas with resources, training and upper management buy-in. Larger organization has become somewhat “management heavy” and ratio of do-ers to managers has decreased. Pay is excellent (above industry standard for the region) and work-life-balance has significantly improved in the past couple of years. Workforce diversity is a plus and corporate commitment to it is apparent. Career advancement opportunities are plentiful for those who can quickly learn to fit the Collins mold (do NOT expect to make friends and earn a place if you like to think outside the box). Overall a challenging and rewarding place for a committed employee to make a career

Everyday I learned something new from my work as well from co workers.

I worked one on one with several people. Constantly changing as far as the work. Always busy never seating still. Mentoring new hire's to the line. Some management not so good.

New Executive Director

New high level management decisions have produced conditions that are the worst since the company was B/E Aerospace.Overworked because lack of management foresight. Program management agrees to unreasonable customer request. Forced back on-site with 2weeks notice after designating positions hybrid and told hybrid was permanent.Low pay, 2-3% raises, bonuses only for upper level, bring your own lunch company events, asked to contribute to RAYPAC and led to believe contribution would be tax deductible when it is really a political contribution. Constantly outsourcing every aspect of company.

Inconsistency with hiring/promoting people to different pay grades. Only way to get a promotion is to apply to another position. Management is out of touch.

Good place

Nice place to work, people are nice and there is room for growth. Managers are good and supportive and try to help you excel even if you want to move to another department

What is the best part of working at the company?Benefits are the only good thing about working @ Collins Aerospace in Burnsville MN.What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The monthly goals that they expect you to accomplish. Everyone works so hard to meet the numbers and don't get any recognition, unless your Supervisor/Manager likes you. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment is pretty laxed for certain people. Alot of the people who make the most money spend their day socializing and walking around all day. If you ask them for help they act like its not their job. What is a typical day like for you at the company?I don't work there anymore. One of the best days of my life was when i quit.

Very productive and fun. Friendly environment, most managers try to work with you and your schedule even though there is a set schedule for everyone.

Inconsistent feedback from managers

Despite positive feedback with managers, they still ended my employment. It’s not about work performance, it was strictly office politics so there isn’t much you can do about it.
