Favoritism
Enrollment Counselor (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, COJune 11, 2018
When management is best friends with each other, it's hard to have serious conversations about what needs to change. Executive leadership refuses to see faults in each other, even when mid-level managers go to them for help and assistance. Many good people leaving due to frustrations over unwillingness for senior leaders to step in and build team unity. Political times are divisive currently, and letting upper leadership vent about personal political opinions with those that they share common opinions with is toxic. This doesn't happen in private, but in public - we work in cubicles, people. Everyone can hear each other.

Things need to change before more good people leave.

GA Position is rough
Graduate Assistant in Admissions Office (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, COMay 10, 2018
They use GA to do whatever they need done and do not take care of GAs. They make sure they do not feel valued or appreciated. The management does not give opportunity to grow or care for an individual's needs. They expect constant availability.

Great work environment
employee (Current Employee) –  Lakewood, COApril 4, 2018
The pay and advancement opportunities really limit this institution. Time off, work/life balance and stresslessness are all very positive for this place.

The variety of the school year lends to changing seasons, and summers we could wear shorts!
Pros
Low stress
Cons
pay and advancement

Best Job I've Ever Had!
ENROLLMENT COUNSELOR (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COFebruary 2, 2018
A job that forced me to step out of my comfort zone. Great atmosphere and wonderful people. My supervisor was generous, understanding of family values, and created a fun environment in a workplace. The most difficult aspect of the job is trying to sell an intangible item, an education that many do not find of value. The most enjoyable by far was the people I worked with.

Great workplace, low pay
Advisor (Current Employee) –  Lakewood, COJanuary 12, 2018
Great teams, rewarding work, but low pay and no room for growth. Managers could do much better at on-boarding. No room in budget for professional development.

CAGS ENROLLMENT COUNSELOR (Former Employee) –  Northglenn, COSeptember 8, 2017
Talking to and counseling prospective adult students. I learned about what classes CCU offers and what adult students are looking for in going back to school. The culture was very welcoming. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the new students you enrolled going to class on the first day of classes. The hardest part of the job was actually working later than 5 or 5:30.
Pros
free tuition after a year.
Cons
long hours

Quality organization
Other (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, COJuly 10, 2017
A good Christian conservative place to work. Focus is on it being a ministry, and so the salaries do not reflect private sector salaries. So there is trade off between a nice place to work with co-workers with shared values and private companies that force political correctness on you.
Pros
Good benefits and culture
Cons
No annual or merit raises, only cost of living increases

Teacher's Assistant in English Department
Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, COJuly 3, 2017
Worked alongside instructor to edit/critique poetry and short stories for literature classes. This was not a formal occupation I was paid for. I enjoyed reading the submissions of other students and working in an area I love: the writing craft.

lab classes & clinical instructor (Current Employee) –  Denver, COJune 27, 2017
Strong Christian morals, very good support of staff. Was able to get help when asked for it. Culture of job;: A+. Hardest part of the job: like any clinical job, it is to go to new places repeatedly and be the new kid on the block each time. Most enjoyable: working with the Nursing students applying skills

Enrollment Counselor and Business Development (Former Employee) –  Main Campus, Lakewood ColoradoJune 23, 2017
I really enjoy the opportunity and ability to impact an individual's worldview in such a way that helps them transform themselves into the person they strive to become on their life's journey.

Fun workplace with great people, finally starting to gain momentum in technology and processes.
Director (Current Employee) –  Lakewood, COJune 23, 2017
Environment will vary depending on department. Due to the organization being smaller, you will take on quite a bit of work that may typically fall to more people or other departments. Overall, you will grow and learn a lot professionally and personally. Management will invest in their staff through a variety of professional development trainings, one on one meetings and university hosted events annually. Being a faith based organization can be a catch 22 for some. It is great that teams can meet and pray, but not everyone has the exact same beliefs (no surprise there). There are some dogmatic believers as well as those who are more about their faith rather than "religion". Overall, it is a great place to work.

Good entry level job
Financial Aid (Former Employee) –  Lakewood, COMay 12, 2017
The people are really nice and there is a big Christian focus. My problems were mainly with their pay and very little room for advancement. It is a good entry level job, but not set up for long term enjoyment.
Pros
Free tuition
Cons
Bad pay, little room to grow, not appreciated as staff

Great employees to work with
Academic Advisor (Current Employee) –  Northglenn, COApril 6, 2017
Great coworkers and great overall mission of school. However, change happens very slow and there is an old boys club that is attached to old ways of doing things. Most everyone is overworked and so mistakes are made and not fixed.
Pros
Great people and vision
Cons
Low pay and slow change
