Good people with horrible management
IT Manager (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MIJanuary 22, 2019
Lots of good people unfortunately they're working under inept management.
Practically a revolving door of employees, few people have been there more than 3 years.
The equity group that purchased the company will only be able to milk it until the customers get tired of faulty product delivered slowly.

Ridiculous
Buyer (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MIJanuary 22, 2019
Working for Colson was the most stressful experience I have ever dealt with. There are no processes in place, inventory is always wrong, and the turn over rate is increasing. HR does not address serious issues like bullying and inappropriate relationships. Before you decide to accept a job at Colson, ask them about the turn over rate. It will blow your mind. People are quitting right and left as well as getting fired. Some supervisors have had numerous complaints about being unprofessional and nothing has been done, instead those workers get fired and fed up and quit.
Pros
Vacation days

Production Scheduler/Planner (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MIJanuary 22, 2019
Colson is a growing company with lots of potential. Unfortunately, the turn over rate is incredibly high. Management has no integrity. Directors are having affairs with supervisors (who report directly to them). Favoritism is widely shown. HR does not address any of these issues. In addition to the lack of leadership and integrity they are so far behind on customer orders. Orders are being processed wrong and are past due 20+ days!!! Poor customers! Working at Colson has been a learning experience for things not to do. Although Colson is lacking integrity I still hope they can make a comeback because there a few hard workers that have been there for 10+ years. They deserve to work for a company they are proud of. I recommend giving a survey to all employees and taking action to their concerns and suggestions.

Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MIJanuary 5, 2019
Company is poorly compartmentlized. Too many people have parts of different processes this has allowed poor communication and part flow to dictate work flow. Poor hirings in certain leadership positions has led to a high turn over rate.

Cut throat people and upper management will lie to your face
Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  St. Joseph, miNovember 17, 2018
At first I liked the job. But as time went by and seeing how people were fired over extremely little things, it became concerning. There is a point system so If you're late or call in sick you get points.

The hardest, working people the workers who go above and beyond there 8 hrs or push themselves to get customer orders pulled and out the door by 5pm are the ones who get let go because other employees lack the drive.

How can a company be customer driven with out being employee driven? Employees matter but to this company if you're a warm body that's all they want, If you think on your feet it's not what they want they want robots.

I was late and gave them over a week notice because my father was having triple by pass heart surgery, and I was still given a point and was told I had poor attendance.

Co workers will be nice to your face but will tell on you in a heart beat. DoNOT JOKE or try to fit in or be liked by your coworker because they lie and tell management on you.

If you have an outgoing personality STAY away from this place. If you have better ideas then a supervisor to do things STAY away from this place because they don't listen.

I am very disappointed with management and staff and human resources they have a policy about telling the truth and when you do you get fired and they lie to your face just days before.

There is no training or they will show you how to do something once and that's it. NO FORKLIFT DRIVER HAS A VALID LICENSE. If you have experience that is good enough.

Colson group is a high turn over rate. It is a very stressful environment because there are no processes in place. Most of the employees are uneducated and in positions that they are not qualified for.
