Management is poor but tribe was great
Employee (Former Employee) –  Colusa, CAApril 20, 2019
If you don’t kiss up to management you will fail. I loved my work. The place is run by accounting management and HR. My reviews were excellent. People being hire at my level were started at a higher wage. They don’t treat you fairly. The policies and rules put in place don’t apply to certain employees. My suggestion is if you decide to accept employment with them, DO NOT bring any issues to light. Rather than correct the issue, they will fire you and state the reason is for violation of the policies and procedures they ignore everyday. The problems are within the accounting management and HR. The other directors outside of these two departments are wonderful. The tribe is wonderful. Something needs to be done about accounting and HR. They throw away good employees and keep the ones who hide how deceptive and inept they are as people in control.

Horrible organization
Irrelevant (Former Employee) –  Colusa, CAJanuary 11, 2019
Do not work for this organization! The entire organization is run by the inept upper management in the accounting department and HR! They fabricate reasons to terminate hard working employees to cover their own screw ups! Issues are handled by them and if the issues address their shortcomings and inadequacies as “management”, you will be fired! Just ask them about their turnover ratio, it’s appalling! They pretend to care, but in reality, they don’t! The organization is riddled with favoritism and if you don’t fit into their pathetic little clique, consider yourself a memory! Most of the actual workers are decent, hardworking people walking on eggshells in the hopes that they aren’t next on the chopping block! I have seen excellent employees fired while the inadequate remain. If you’re not willing to kiss butt, this isn’t the place for you! This will continue until the Council realizes the problems are not the workers, but upper management!

Read these reviews before considering even interviewing. You can tell which are staged and which are honest.
Will not disclose (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaJanuary 11, 2019
Cut throat, sneaky, bad communication, steer clear of this place.
Horrible Management are pawns of the Indian council who rule the work place. They mix business and pleasure so being an outsider you already have one foot that never gets in the door. Wether you are good at the job or not you can and will be replaced if a closer to the area or know someone already employed there. Not for the faint of heart with regards to driving.
One of the worst experiences of my work life. And I have no clue why I was even considered aside from my work background bc of the cultural differences.
Pros
Seemed friendly, welcoming. Benefits, wait period is too long. Unequal pay
Cons
All cons, literally! job description vs. actual duties

Community Outreach Patrol Liaison (Current Employee) –  Colusa, CADecember 12, 2017
Overall a diverse and great place to work. You will learn a lot about the careers and the community. I would highly recommend people who have a desire to work in a rewarding work place to apply and learn about the jobs available and learn about the culture.

Chaotic, Disorganized and Cut Throat
Educational Liaison (Former Employee) –  Colusa, CAAugust 31, 2017
Beware of this organization! This organization is operated by human resources and accounting personnel who relentlessly micromanage department Directors and Supervisors, and discourage any independent functioning by their leadership.
The Executive leadership are comprised of abusive, entitled elders who are incapable of providing positive feedback, and are incompetent.
The Executive leadership, if held accountable outside of their protected environment would fail miserably as janitorial staff at their local Wal-Mart.
This organization cares less about the people who work for them and views them as chattel. This organization, if privately held, and not a sovereign Indian community would be held liable for labor law violations resulting in collective lawsuits being won by those that they hire, abuse and fire without consideration.
Do not work for this organization! You will regret that you ever did.
