Hiring time varies. It depends on how fast HR is. It took me three months but I know some people who it took 6 plus months

Depends on your position. Social workers essentially get scheduled, step raises every year for the first 8-10 years. I can't speak for other departments, but I'm pretty sure that's how corrections works too.

Awful because of the mandatory overtime and in that the support staff are too busy sleeping, texting, running personal errands, watching movies or outside smoking, so you have to work extra time to get your documentation done properly. You have to back peddle and do some of the direct support staff because they are lazy and clueless.

Provided little-to-no training and expected you to pick up 'on the fly'. Ummm, no, that's not how it works if you want the job done well. They did excel at beratement on a daily basis. The worst job experience I've ever had.
