Work & Life Balance

National Spokesperson in Arlington, VA
on February 26, 2021
Gave me sense of purpose
I love advocating for kids in need and impacting the lives of kids. Even after being a student who utilized their services, I continue to work with CIS, I continue to stay involved with them and their efforts.
Academic Enrichment Specialist II in Denton, TX

Nice company, good employees and supervisors, good environment. Cons is pay and hours. trains are easyto understands very well. took covid precautions very well
Coordinator in Dallas, TX
on March 8, 2021
Little to no training, Job description should include that you will not only be the CIS coordinator for your campus but it might also include additional responsibilities as a Parent and Military Liaison for your school with no additional pay.
Program Manager in Austin, TX
on March 1, 2021
Great experience and amazing work with the kids. Lots of paperwork, but that’s expected in a nonprofit. Supervisors are supportive and there is a culture of caring, however pay is low, especially for entry level positions. Pay is also inequitable between staff and HR isn’t receptive to feedback in this regard. They will increase starting salary brackets for positions without picking up existing staff salary-thus new staff make more than current ones.
Student Support Specialist/Site Coordinator in CIS Charlotte-Mecklenburg
on February 18, 2021
At CIS, student success and growth are always at the center of everything done. The agency does a great job with implementing the Developmental Relationships model for student achievement. The only real complaint that I can give is that the pay for school site based, face-to-face staff- it isn't the best. Most staff are truly doing the required work for the children and that in and of itself is rewarding; I just wish staff was better compensated for the great work that is done to support students and families.
