Direct Service Provider (Former Employee) – San Luis Obispo, CA – June 12, 2018
If you take this job except to do the work of at least 3 people. Very good staff here because they care for people. However, the Deputy Directors are micro managers. Allot of people are afraid to take breaks & eat at their desks. Community Action Partnership wants to appear like they care for their employees, bottom line they don’t. They control people by threatening their jobs which are impossible. The only people I met that likes their jobs were not working directly for families. The energy savings program was the only soild program.
Center Director (Former Employee) – Shafter, CA – May 30, 2018
They need much more improvement on there leaderships and some teaching staff as well. Corporate office is in San Luis Obispo and the centers are in Bakersfield, Delano and shafter and they leave all the responsibilities to the center directors and when issues happen that need help from administrative office they try to clean their duties by back firing thins to the centers.
Good hours for parents to leave there children 5-5 pm

M.S.W. Intern Worker (Former Employee) – San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 – November 20, 2017
Fantastic internship experience all staff members were always helpful and patient, my supervisor modeled and guided every step of the way for me and I learned so much. Everyone is so dedicated to the mission statement, which basically states to teach a person to fish so that they may provide for themselves and to advocate for those who cannot, community is very lucky to have the homeless shelter and the day center.
Community awareness events and their participation in other community events
Top Administration, high on the goodwill the Homeless Services Program provides them personally in the community
homeless services staff (Former Employee) – MLM Shelter and Prado Day Center – October 1, 2017
Many good caring people work for this organization, none of them being the decision makers who head the organization. The administration puts the organization and their own personal needs, wants, and preferences ahead of the needs of their staff, programs and most especially the homeless families and individuals themselves.
strong benefit package for full-time employees
very poor pay, stressful work environment, ignorant and self serving administration
Stressful and doesn't compensate well. Must love helping the homeless
Homeless Services Worker III (Former Employee) – San Luis Obispo, CA – August 15, 2017
The overall company management was poor but the direct management in each facility was amazing. They made working in that type of high stress environment easy and worth it. We were the definition of overworked and underpaid. Extremely long hours and in order to make it in this position, you must genuinely want to help the homeless and make a difference otherwise it's so easy to get burnt out.
Front desk assistant (Former Employee) – San Luis Obispo, CA – October 4, 2016
Was great being able to assist patients in the community with there basic medical needs. Both youth and elderly. Was a good place that gave back the medical assistance that was needed to help the community. Was a wonderful place to work
