Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIMarch 26, 2019
Do yourself a favor and do not work here if you want a job with advancement and good management.
There’s limited trainings. You are told that you can do trainings once you hit a year mark, which is not true. They are very selective on who they let do trainings. If you love bed bugs, then apply here because you have to transport clients with bedbugs and go inside their homes. If you want to work nights and weekends apply here (in the snow included)

Management is horrible. They all talk about each other and the employees. You are overworked and under paid! Not to mention there’s a few times when we were not paid on time and they take forever to pay out insurance for medical bills.

Do yourself a favor and go to another job!
Pros
A lot of vacation
Cons
Horrible management

Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIMarch 24, 2019
Don’t dont don’t don’t don’t work here!!!!!! Management is the absolute worst! Admin care only about themselves and making themselves look good. Case managers are not thought of in the slightest bit. Training is out the window because they are desperate so you are just thrown into your job. Instead of trying to problem solve they make everything worse! They also pay really low. Want to do this job? go to the providence center or gateway at least their pay is higher for the same kind of BS!
Pros
Coworkers, entry level experience
Cons
Work more than you are paid for, terrible benefits, horrible supervisors, bad management

Executive Management (Former Employee) –  IllinoisFebruary 15, 2019
Community Care Alliance of Illinois could be a very good company, however, leadership is a group that has been fired and migrated from location to location, so the same mentally follows to each new location. Management hires friends and families and provides no over sight in wrong doing when associated with friends. Outsiders are penalized or let go for calling out injustices or expressing dissatisfaction. If you speak up about the high school mentally you are penalized. The organization knows of sexist, racist, under hand tactics and sweeps it under the rug. Lies are told to clients, which impacts the level of care provided and/or received by clients. Practices violate Medicare laws.

Turnover makes it impossible for clients to trust you
Worker Bee (Current Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIJanuary 26, 2019
Low moral made worse by management. Leaders hang out with employees on off time and spills over in teams. Gossipy and cut throat. Pay does not correlate with experience and training. Employees are aware of pay imbalances, they threaten firing for talking about it instead of fixing. Let good employees go. Few are valued, most treated as replaceable. This environment hurts clients who can go through 3 or more caseworkers per year, never fully trusting because they can't.
Pros
Gain experience to use elsewhere.

working lunches, low pay

Treatment Assistant (Current Employee) –  East Providence, RIJanuary 18, 2019
The most enjoyable part of the job is the schedule. Higher end management is the greatest. The work is easy. The hardest part of the job may be handling clients that become aggressive.

High rate of turnover, low pay, terrible management, and large caseloads. Case workers are essentially uber drivers and are expected to go above and beyond their job description. Management does nothing to help.

Clinician (Current Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIOctober 3, 2017
A good place to work at the beginning of your career. Many trainings, a manageable caseload, good co-workers and exciting programs.

Good benefits package, not exactly where one will work forever, but a good place to start your career in human services.
Pros
Good paid time off, flexible schedule
Cons
Weak management, lower starting pay than some other agencies

Fee for Service Clinician in Adult Outpatient (Current Employee) –  Rhode IslandFebruary 8, 2017
The agency does good work, has hard working employees and completes impossible everyday. It has been a pleasant experience, I am part of good teams with good people. We live in a world depended on by state and federal funding. We live in a world that is accomplishing tasks for people that others would not understand. Working here is difficult on some days and on others it is pleasant. Access to upper management is a pro and con, but being recognized by the President of the agency feels good because you know he is taking a personal interest in every individual employee.
Pros
free coffee and water

;ots of restrictions by funders of important programs.

This place micro manages you. They have the poorest leaders. They don't care about you. They make you drive down to Rockford, IL for one app. Undercompensated, over worked and stressed out. No sales with this company. Benefits are for the birds.

For a community mental health agency, it is a good company to work for in terms of benefits and opportunities.
Pros
supportive, good team work, good opportunities.
Cons
pay is average for community healthcare

Café Manager/Vocational (Current Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIMarch 15, 2016
A typical day at work consists of caring for adults with a history of. mental illness and/or substance abuse. It can get tough. I would say that's also the hardest part of the day. Management and co-workers are friendly and helpful. The most enjoyable part of the job is the rewarding feeling you get knowing you've helped someone struggling in a bad situation. From this job, I have learned that each and every one of us struggle in a different way to keep above water in our own lives, whether it be from addiction, mental illness or what ever we have to over come.
Pros
Good health and dental benefits, lots of vacation time and a great team environment.
Cons
Sometimes ineffective communication complicates things, and pay is low.

Flexible schedule, poor management and work enviornment
Clinical Case Manager (Current Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIOctober 23, 2015
This agency had a wonderful feel to it prior to the merge of Family Resources and NRI. Work schedule is generally flexible which can be nice for employees with families. The work enviornment is very poor and not handled well by management at all levels. There is alot of favoritism and bad mouthing of other employees both by co-worker and managers, so make sure you are on the "in".
The work they do for families and individuals in the community is wonderful, but the poor enviornment, low pay, high stress, and lack of quality support by managers is not worth it.
Since the merge there has been a huge shift in focus...it was once the quality services provided to clients and the needs/treatment of employees, now it is strictly money centered.
I would have agreed with the other reviews prior to the merge of the agencies, however it is a different story now.
Pros
Working in a rewarding feild with clients
Cons
Money centered, poor management, low pay, stress.

YOUTH SUCCESS PROGRAM COORDINATOR (Current Employee) –  Woonsocket, RIOctober 3, 2015
What I enjoy most about this job is that every day is different. While some days I may be in meetings and compiling reports, other days I may be on the road seeing client's in their homes. I enjoyed the ability to create my schedule to meet my own needs, and those of my clients.
In addition, I was able to thrive on the opportunity to learn from ongoing professional development opportunities through inter-agency trainings and workshops, as well as those offered throughout the community and other programs. CCA, (formerly Family Resources and Northern RI Community Services), has grown to be an agency that encourages staff to collaborate within programs in order to share resources and treat clients across programs in order to ensure best practice.
Pros
Flexible schedule and supportive management
Cons
Many computer network issues, often told to "log off" during work hours. Difficulty getting work done during office time, especially when most databases are online.
