Corporate Coding Manager (Former Employee) –  Franklin, TNJune 20, 2018
After being employed I went from managing one local hospital to managing 5 hospitals across the United States with no additional compensation. It just became overwhelming.

Registered Nurse - Clinic (Former Employee) –  Munster, INMay 30, 2018
Enjoyable work environment. Direct supervisor was responsive, supportive and capable. Co-workers were wonderful. Unfortunately, the particular clinic I was working in lost four employees in the last year due to the behavior of the attending physicians.

Most Co workers make going to work fun.Management is horrible and are basically useless.
Health Care Provider (Current Employee) –  Munster, INApril 6, 2018
Horrible place to work if you are expecting descent compensation. Management and supervisors are basically place holders as they have no control over anything worth while.

Experience to put on a resume

Registration Representative (Current Employee) –  Munster, INApril 3, 2018
Community Healthcare should take into consideration and value its front line workers as much as its doctors. Pay is low and time off is slow to earn unless you are in a salaried position.

Pharmacists and pharmacy techs should avoid this place at all costs
Pharmacist (Former Employee) –  PharmacyMarch 2, 2018
There is so much turnover for both pharmacists and techs at Community. The management here is absolutely terrible and creates a very hostile environment in an already stressful pharmacy. HR obviously sees all of this turnover and hears all the complaints from staff, but nothing ever gets better. If you are desperate for money then this could be a temporary position, but it will be a miserable couple of months until you find your next job (It's much worse than I'm letting on so hopefully you won't have to work here temporarily either.). Good luck!
Pros
With all this turnover you'll get to meet a lot of new people
Cons
With all of this turnover you won't know those people for very long. Management is a huge negative

Fast Paced and Stressful at Times
EVS Assistant II (Former Employee) –  East Chicago, INFebruary 17, 2018
Working in EVS in this hospital can be stressful and is most notably fast paced. The hardest part of this job was working in the emergency department because above all else you can get hurt and you can get sick
Pros
Good Food
Cons
Some not so good co-workers

Regional Billing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJanuary 28, 2018
A typical work day included meeting daily quotas, must be able to work independently but have access to management if needed. Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers, management, and administrators.

The work environment is very relaxed and friendly.

Hardest part of the job is being able to resolve customer related issues due to non-payments by insurance providers.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with friendly people and people who where willing to help and assist others as needed.
Pros
flexible working hours

Not very organized. Upper management and leadership has an, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude. Very old school mentality.
Prefer not to say (Former Employee) –  Munster, INJanuary 4, 2018
The organization has grown a lot but operates on a small scale. A lot of close-minded people. Some of the managers got their job by chance and do not know how to manage a department.
Cons
The healthcare benefits package. You had to see the doctors within the organization, or it's wasn't covered.

There is no training and you are thrown into a sink or swim atmosphere. You learn your job by your mistakes. Not a good place to ask your supervisor for assistance.

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Davenport, IAAugust 29, 2017

Office Manager (Current Employee) –  Munster, INAugust 4, 2017
Very stressful. Expect utmost output with little upper management input. Do not find time to train but find time to reprimand when what was learned on own was not done properly. Preach patient comes first but if you do work that was assigned to another department watch out for the toes you just stepped on. OUCH

Hostile work environment
Server (Former Employee) –  Hobart, INJuly 13, 2017
The lazy get rewarded and the hard workers suffer! Many amazing people work there, but the lazy out number the hard workers which makes it hard to work in that environment if you are a go getter! Upper management has a relaxed approach, leaving problems to never get fixed and building up and affecting the crew, patients and their family. Union workers are protected and can do what they please, smoke in the parking lot, take free food, resulting in people not getting their food in rooms or in the cafeteria. Same level employees barking orders in front of customers and no where to complain. Management not consistent with punishment and rules are not enforced. If the management enforces the rules, HR over rules them. Huge amount of calls off in the service departments daily, (housekeeping, food service, etc). If you don't want to work, this is the place to go, If you do, then stay away because you will be doing the work for two or three.
Pros
Free flu shot
Cons
No punishment for the rule breakers, cult like upper management

Great place to work minus drama
Cardiovascular Technologist (Current Employee) –  Hobart, INJune 28, 2017
This was a great place to work minus department drama! People are manipulative and allowed to do as they please. If you don't share the same views, you soon become the outcast. Not all employees are expected to live by mission statement of hospital, and if you don't like it, you might as well leave, because management does not want to hear it. Overall I enjoy working for hospital when not dealing with drama.
Pros
Knowledge learned
Cons
Drama
