Cut throat corporate employees., high turn over in most facilities
Employee (Former Employee) –  LouisianaJanuary 18, 2019
Corporate is run by back-stabbing, cut throat women who are not supportive of management at the facility levels.. If you rock the boat to do what is fair and right or what they disagree with, you are on their radar to get rid of. Most facilities have high turnover in management and floor positions. Very unstable at most facilities. Narcissistic, manipulative psychiatrist within the company who is difficult to work with and controls a lot of what happens at several facilities. No job security and no sense of family-like culture. Bottom line dollar is priority over safety, quality of care, and well-being of patients and employees.
Cons
Corporate women in control, Narcissistic psychiatrist

Patient Registration Specialist (Former Employee) –  Warrenton, MOOctober 17, 2018
poor training for new employees, poor management,

Management say they are helping all the while they are keeping track of the mistakes you are making due to lack of training from the beginning.

I feel it is a clickish company
The clients that are needing the help actually are great however the staff are not very friendly towards them.
Pros
Benefits are great
Cons
Managements and staff are poor

Systemic Prejudice and Racism
Peer Counselor (Former Employee) –  Everett, WAMay 22, 2018
Peer Center management didn't properly address systemic prejudice and outward racism of employees towards clients and coworkers. The overall atmosphere of the entire Everett Broadway campus was cut-throat and non cooperative among fellow co-workers, and culturally insensitive to the demographic served. Employees retaliated against complaints, co-workers gossiped and there was little team building causing cliques in the workplace. Private Health Information was often mishandled carelessly in the Peer Center specifically. Management overlooked and issues minimized. Also, when faced with hardship human resources provided no respite or resources.
Pros
working with homeless demographic, working with clients in recovery
Cons
institutional race class and able isms, poor management, employees doing work not assigned to job (eg. janitor providing incompetent counselor work)

Certified Peer Counselor/Parent Partner/WISe (Current Employee) –  Everett, WaAugust 20, 2018
Great management and co-workers! Compensation is on the lower end compared to other companies, and not enough to live on. They encourage personal mental health days, as working in mental health can be very overwhelming and stressful. Some manager support self-care days.

Clinician II (Former Employee) –  Lynnwood, WAJanuary 17, 2019
The clinicians I worked with at Compass are among the finest I've ever known. The administrators at Compass often speak out of both sides of their mouths. They will offer things and take them away when interest is shown. They will make promises on personal development and then say "There isn't anything I can do about it."
Pros
The client population is far reaching
Cons
Do not expect support from management.

Clinician II (Former Employee) –  Lynnwood, WASeptember 19, 2018
Most people work here just to get their clinical and supervision hours towards licensure. Once they get licenced it is only a matter of time before they leave. The pay has chronically been below the industry standard so they don't hold onto people very long. Most counselors have master degrees yet can barely afford a one bedroom apartment. The benefits are pretty good though(health, dental, vision, vacation, etc.).
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Below industry standard pay.

CHAP/KIT Therapist (Former Employee) –  Everett, WANovember 3, 2018
Compass is a community mental health provider. The job itself was interesting, changing and overall fairly rewarding. The pay/benefits was simply not enough to allow people to remain there very long so turnover is very high. This is a good first job out of college to pad the resume but beyond that. . . .
Pros
Good atmosphere, nice people, interesting work
Cons
LOW pay

Community Outreach and Recovery services (Former Employee) –  Bellingham, WASeptember 12, 2018
I enjoyed working for Compass Health, I know I was a hardworker. Compass started a brand new program which there was no training how to do the job. It was confusing and didn't get any better.
Pros
Free weekly lunches, full benifits and great managers.
Cons
Lack of leadership, misunderstanding of policies, constant changes, no consistency between HR and employees.

Compass is doing great work in the community, however the tremendous growth over the last 10 years has created a gap in the work force and pay has not kept up with the times for front line staff.

There seems to be a culture of mistrust out side of each location.

Manager (Former Employee) –  Arroyo Grande, CANovember 14, 2018
No management or guidance from corporate. Little to no tools for the job. Archaic systems in-place from the 1980's. They need to utilize technology to limit mistakes and streamline information.
Pros
Nice staff
Cons
No Management, poor technology.

I wish I never left my old job for this place
staff (Former Employee) –  WAApril 24, 2018
If your looking to drown in paperwork and deal with union- this is the job for you. surprised this place is still in business. most of the staff have no idea what there job duties are and if they do they try everything in there power to get out of it. Management is caught between union and work expectations- every week you get new changes with no real goal. Lots of paper movement but not real quality work is done for the actual clients. having work in the field for over 15 years and never have I experienced a place full of poor work ethic and little to no accountability amongst managers and staff- truly there is no interest in the clients here. Tax payer dollars are being wasted. Save your time and efforts and save your self from this black hole.

I'm assuming they provide good health insurance because you'll likely end up needed it due HIGH burn out rate.
Pros
good insurance.

Not a team orientated work environment
Employee (Former Employee) –  Highlands Ranch, COOctober 3, 2017
The management is not very strong, not there to help you, calls you out on all the bad you do, but will not give you credit for all the good you do either. Low salary for all the employees. Likes to give other employees raises if they threaten to put their two weeks notice in, so they stay. Will work you to death and NOT pay you for all the overtime that you put in. But, expect that you get all jobs completed for a five people that you are short of having.

Addiction Recovery Technician (Current Employee) –  Columbia, MOMarch 22, 2018
Was a good job at first. You don't get much training and you are thrown into the job and usually have to learn for yourself. Upper management doesn't care about your personal well-being and will replace you if need be.

If it weren't for management, job is wonderful. Very rewarding job with the ability to help a lot of people. Coworkers are wonderful as well.

Peer Counselor - Certified (Former Employee) –  Bellingham, WAMay 28, 2018
It was a necessary service in the community. the particular program lacked financial backing.

There were so many clients in the homeless society needing mental health services. We paired the clients to resources and set goals. We often discussed deeply personal hurts and peer counselors were available also to motivate, support, encourage and celebrate achievements with them.
Pros
rewarding experiences

Kind caring Coworkers
Clinical Support Assistant (Current Employee) –  Marysville, WAApril 17, 2017
The most enjoyable part of working here is the amazing people that work here. As you can imagine the kind of people in this field are very kind and caring general speaking. Managers try to be understanding to individuals. Team oriented. However, in comparison to other companies pay structures for the same positions pay here is not competitive and there is little to no room for advancement. Much favoritism goes on here.
Pros
Great Coworkers, Caring people
Cons
Underpaid, little to no room for advancement, no raises
