No job security here
Executive Assistant (Current Employee) –  Overland Park, KSNovember 18, 2018
There was no typical day. It was a gigantic mess after a massively over-priced and incredibly inefficient software program was installed and made everyone's job 10 times harder and 20 times more frustrating. They jiumped the shark on this decision and went way over-busdget resulting in hiring freeze, multiple lay-offs and fear among those still working as to whether they will have a job each day they go into work. The management hides in their offices all day and the CEO is a ghost. The hardest part about this job is lack of transparency and honest between the senior staff and those they manage. Everyone I have talked to is looking for another job, except those that are too old to go anywhere else or are close to retirement. The most enjoyable part of this job is,,,,?
Pros
nice receptionist
Cons
management; job security; lack of honesty/transparency

Smart employees excelent mix of culture
Operator (Former Employee) –  Ogden utOctober 24, 2018
This place has a potential to be special but management like to keep employees under the boot hill, Tey use them as cost savings allowing them to leave or fire/lay them off to save a buck rather than use their expertise to save money in other ways.
Even when they do use ideas to save money they top it off with downsizing to save even more and leave the entire staff wondering if their job is secure.
The HR department has this mentality as well.
Pros
Good top end of smart well trained vets working with the younger guys training them properly
Cons
Poor management, lack of care for employees, Quik to fire, Dont hire from within

Compass is a very fast paced and challenging work environment as we are constantly pushed to strive for better sales and new customers. This job requires a lot of travel and overnight stays.

Freight Payment Specialist (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSAugust 14, 2018
Loved it!

My supervisor was perfect!
He always went above and beyond to make sure his team felt comfortable.
I worked there for 6 months and the only issue was that I felt that permanent positions should have been offered to those who worked hard.
Pros
flexible hours, great team, lots of work
Cons
temps don't have much of a say so when it comes to being permanent

Internal Auditor (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSJune 27, 2018
Laid back culture. Promote from within. Lots of emphasis on personal performance and development. While I was employed, monthly one on one's were encouraged. This was greatly beneficial so there were no surprises at year end. Overall great place to work.

Bad place to work
Bagger (Current Employee) –  Ogden, UTMay 4, 2018
Good pay. Management could care less about you. Long hours and get called in all the time. The will deny your vacation the day before if they want to. Will not hire more people to fill people that left. They drive production over safety and quality.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Everything else

Questionable
Manager (Current Employee) –  Overland Park, KSFebruary 12, 2018
Say the right things but they don't do the right things. Sales isn't held accountable, a lot of senior management without industry knowledge, ideas aren't well received, and middle management has conflicts of interest by rewarding friends business instead of the bid process.

Ok Place to Work
Desktop Support Technician (Current Employee) –  Overland Park, KSDecember 20, 2017
It's an ok place to work, but there is a glass ceiling. When you see it you won't/can't advance. The turn over is very high at this company, as most people see this and leave.
