Inspector in Austin, TX

Compliance Resources Inc. is a great job for recent college graduates. They've grown a lot since 2018 and have created a great training program, which I believe has led them to be the best SWP3 consultants in Central Texas. As an Environmental Field Inspector, you travel ~50% of the time to different construction sites usually given to you based on where you live. The job grants you a lot of freedom and gives you access to pretty cool construction sites around town. One of the biggest issues I experienced while working at CRI was their horrible pay. During my 3+ years at CRI, I continued to prove my hard work and dedication through exceeded continued education and quality controls expectations only to see a total pay increase of $1.86 (started at $15.39 & ended at $17.25). I want future and current employees to know, that 20 cent raises are better than nothing BUT are not normal. I don't believe this job is intended to be a long-term commitment, so if you don't see any internal growth or substantial wage increases after your first year and a half I'd recommend pushing yourself to grow before becoming "zombie-brained" or comfortable. I'm glad to see they've increased the starting pay to $17.08 since I've left, and hope my co-workers have seen a pay increase as well. Being a SWP3 Inspector is hard work but could definitely be fulfilling when listened to.

The workplace culture is very down to earth and understanding of accommodations. The work is engaging and active, if not a little lonely during the week days. I would say the hardest part of the job would be interacting with the construction supervisors who care little for the environment and the work we do. That being said, there is a sense of accomplishment when making an actual difference in these people's environmental education and understanding.

This job is for people who are organized enough to work alone and hold yourself accountable. The team I meet with on a weekly basis is incredibly helpful and friendly, I always feel that my management is there for me to help as much as possible. Office days and seeing my team are one of my favorite parts of this job. This job requires a lot of walking sites that are sometimes over 100 acres long which can get rough in the summer. Sometimes working field days in the summer can get tough but I've always enjoyed the exercise factor of my field day as long as I stay hydrated. Especially when I meet friendly dogs, horses, donkeys, etc.
Field Team Leader in US

Great entry-level position to gain professional experience right out of college. There is freedom to organize your own schedule while out on inspections during the week. Managers and Team Leaders are knowledgeable and are committed to your professional development and to ensuring a positive work environment. Company is continually striving to be innovative and look for ways they can improve on and exceed industry standards. Consistent training is done to ensure you are aware of what is expected of you and what you should know.

Depending on your area of work you will get home each day between noon and 3pm. The employees and office managers create good workplace culture and morale. The hardest part of the job is dealing with technical issues and car problems. The best part of the job is getting home early and being able to work from home the remainder of the day.
