Quality (Current Employee) – Solon, OH – September 12, 2018
This is a fairly new company and has a lot of potential. There are a lot opportunities to improve culture, environment, and engagement. But company gives employees the ability to create, build and make decisions for someone who enjoys this type of thing.
Production Scheduler (Former Employee) – Solon, OH – July 26, 2018
Cosmax has a lot of smart and talented people working for them, from management to the people on the floor. The company continues to grow and there are a lot of different opportunities. There is a very diverse group of cultures here and it is a great experience to get to interact with them all.
Production Supervisor (Former Employee) – Solon, OH – June 10, 2018
Regardless how desperate you may find yourself in seeking gainful employment, do not subject yourself to the verbal and mental abuse you will receive at the hands of the management team. They are far more concerned with their own self importance and bullying employees than actually accomplishing anything. If you enjoy being bullied at work then this is your place. Training is completely nonexistent and the expectations far exceed the compensation. The clown in charge of production is clearly incapable of leading people in any capacity and has no concept of how to run a large scale production facility. The business model they have chosen, by hiring all temporary employees, puts the responsibility into the hands of inexperienced, incapable people that, more often than not, don’t speak any English. They do not provide the necessary tools to complete the tasks expected. The HR department is nonexistent as they yield to the decisions of the “Directors”. If you work here you are subjecting yourself to the whims of people who are incapable of doing the jobs they have been hired to do and their inabilities will make your life miserable. Think twice before working here.
Inconsistent directives, Poor compensation, Terrible leadership. Complete lack of respect for employees
Quality control Inspector (Former Employee) – Cleveland, OH – October 13, 2017
cheeking product to make sure it meets all company and customer requirements learned how to balance production and quality for the company the hardness part of the job was to check new product and make standard so the product can release when it does not meet all the requirement of customer
Department Production Lead (Former Employee) – Solon, OH – September 19, 2017
Absolutely no training given. No metrics were set up. Management is very inexperienced. Temp agency used was sketchy at best. Planning is terrible. You will have to work 10-12 hours daily with the addition of weekends.
This job is very unorganized. A typical day is packing or filling products. You stand for 12 hours and you get 2 breaks. I learned how to work in a fast pace. The co-workers were friendly but not the administrators.
Good upcoming company but watch you back with the young inexperienced management
Planner (Former Employee) – Solon, OH – October 4, 2016
Overall Cosmax is not a bad place to work, a little unorganized but that should be expected with it being a new company in the United States. Most of the workforce are Temps and are hard working for the most part. For the permanent staff decent benefits are offered. The upper management was brought directly from Korea and they are very knowledgeable. Cosmax frequently brings over company experts (masters) to help train employees in the day to day business. This bring some me to middle management. In hopes of a smooth transition, Cosmax hired all middle management from the previous cosmetic company. This, in my opinion, was a huge mistake. Throughout the company this group has become to be known as the L'Oreal click. It is my experience that this click protects each other pushes blame and will not take responsibility for their mistakes. One manager in particular constantly talks down to and disrespect upper management. Unfortunately being from a foreign country and due to the language barrier the upper management do not understand the negative and hurtful comments that are being made to them. HR is aware of the complaints made against this manager however from what I have seen and heard nothing has been done to fix the problem. Any department is good to work in just beware of planning.
Free lunch on Fridays, good benefits, decent hours
Line Assembly Worker (Former Employee) – Solon, OH – September 26, 2016
My typical day at work is just working hard and making my weekly salary. What I've learned for working in this job is that I've learned about proper food etiquettes. What I expect in management is that I would like them to have to work as hard as I have to, I only expect equality with in the work line. I'm completely sociable with my co-workers, I expect the same thing from them as I would expect from management; equality. The hardest part of my job would definitely have to be that everything is an equal challenge; its as hard as you make it out to be. I enjoy learning new skills when it comes to my job, I like to add that into my cooking so that I could a better performance in my work.
