At covanta your situation awareness skills will nd would be put to use. Because of the atmosphere you want to stay on you toes at all times. Things can fall nd sometimes do fall and you want to be at a safe distance if nd when it does. The management there is awesome and alot of fun ppl to be around.

General Laborer (Former Employee) –  Tulsa, OKSeptember 29, 2018
A typical work day here is inconsistent. My job was general labor.
While working here i learned to operate and forklift and a skid steer.
Management was very hands off, non communicative, and not very instructional.
Work place culture was very toxic.
The hardest part of this job was working in the elements.
The most enjoyable part of this job was when i was operating a forklift.

Oracle Core DBA Consultant (Former Employee) –  Morristown, NJAugust 31, 2018
At Covanta Energy, I was a Cognizant Technology Solutions Consultant.

Had lots of learnings as a Oracle DBA. I was in the Data Center where I had to work with all other teams as well. This was a wonderful experience with lots of learnings.

If given a chance, I wish to join as a Full-time or a Consultant again in IT Infrastructure at Covanta Energy.

Facilities Safety Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Niagara Falls, NY and MinnesottaAugust 20, 2018
Always be care full working anywhere that has ZERO DIVERSITY . You are always considered the outsider . Working in mangement is difficult if the management is ran average or bove average to were you came from. So imagine what it feels like to go to a company wre management is operated in a sense of below average and the leadership is the center of turmoil. You are considered the problem because the others are used to that environment and so they say nothing to keep there jobs ( there white) .
Pros
local, good salary + Bonus
Cons
Terrible leadership at Plant level

I'm a former fired employee who is not remorseful. I don't work with pig farmers and morons any more who could care less about your safety. You can enjoy the pay and benefits but the job is going to drive you insane.

Hard to balance work needs and life needs.
Employee (Current Employee) –  MAMay 19, 2018
Good paying job, that runs your life. To best describe working for covanta. One would have to compare it some of the poorest working conditions on Earth. As there is no other way to put it. The plant comes first then your needs. But, be prepared to be harassed on many levels by the management

Managed poorly
Laboror (Current Employee) –  IndianaApril 27, 2018
Covanta was a decent place to work when I first started. It has really changed. Some days you work 16 hours, some days they tell you to take the day off (unpaid) because they don't have any jobs for you to do. Scheduling of jobs and current management needs to change. They use old equipment that frequently breaks down and needs to be repaired. Occasionally causing us to cancel jobs at the last minute. They need to invest in new, modern equipment to get the jobs done right. Many unhappy customers take it out on us workers when they should call upper management. It is a dirty job in all kinds of weather. Some of the guys were easy to work with, others were two faced and made the days difficult. Hard job but good benefits.
Pros
good benefits and fair pay
Cons
Hard work, unorganized management

Senior Crane Operator (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMarch 22, 2018
