Counselor in Williamsburg, PA
on December 2, 2021
I started here straight out of college. I was lucky to be trained by one of the better counselors in the facility. I saw a few coworkers who started after me only allowed to shadow and then given a caseload with little experience. There was a lot of turn over among clinical staff. In two years I became fourth in seniority. They always say they value continuing education, but when I went back to school they wouldn't accommodate. Caseload were double state mandates. Weekend groups were 180+ men with one or two counselors. Everything is standardized and copy paste notes. No time or ability to individualize for the clients needs. Would often send clients to Partial program despite counselor recommendations. I learned a lot and I'm grateful for the experience. But I would never go back. Burn out is a real issue among staff.

Poor pay for the environment. Culture is toxic and unnecessarily competitive. No advancement. Lots of clicks that create drama and conflict. Many relationships that create tension and conflict. When switching positions I was made aware that I had been greatly manipulated out of raises despite excellent performance reviews. Dishonest and disappointing. Clients engage in inappropriate behaviors and you are to blame for not redirecting them. Staff can be petty looking to be the most validated by the manager. Lots of “under the bus”. One of the worst job experiences I have ever had. Continually given the ultimatum to choose work over a life. Huge continual turnover. Needs restructured.

Staff Nurse in Williamsburg, PA
on March 22, 2022
This place has so much potential but the purpose of profit making has been made clear over the past few years. Corporate is the blame by the on grounds administration and nothing ever gets fixed or improved upon. Staff to patient ratio is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, this proves true, time and time again where the local community is trying to push the facility out of their back yard. The nurses are burnout and have lost their passion (if they ever had any) to care for the individuals that are most vulnerable. Good luck to this facility and anyone willing to give them a chance!
Dual Diagnosis Counselor in Williamsburg, PA

If you want a job that allows you to be who you are and you have ethical values and you actually care about what you do you will do awesome here and be a great part of the team. I wouldn't recommend this for someone that is just checking off boxes or looking for a paycheck or is an authoritarian Choice Theory and Lead management is a huge Plus
