Credentialing Specialist (Former Employee) –  1400 Centerpoint Blvd, Bldg AJuly 2, 2019
I was contacted by upper management to come for an interview at Covenant Medical Group. I went for the interview and was hired immediately. I knew many of the employees through Cariten contacts so I wanted to work with a great group and have more job security.
Pros
Very social and fun group with a very good work ethic.
Cons
Sometimes too lenient with some employee issues.

Clinician (Current Employee) –  New HampshireJune 27, 2019
Poor leadership and lack of respect for the clinical staff in all area’s by Directors. It is all about the budget. Staff input is pushed aside, concerns are pushed aside and the idea of taking the time to actually take care of patients is pushed aside.
Pros
Co workers
Cons
Poor Senior Leadership and Directors who only focus on numbers, bottom line ..

Registered Nurse (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNJune 25, 2019
overworked, underpaid, dangerous working conditions. Beautiful hospital but if youre looking to be a staff nurse on an inpatient unit, the grass is not greener anywhere else.

Very Stressful, No advancement opportunities, Compensation isn't worth the job being done
PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Current Employee) –  Knoxville, TNJune 18, 2019
This job is a very stressful one with no advancement opportunities, and little pay. No vacation unless you have time built up for it, but that time you build up you also have to use for sick days, holidays, and anytime the office is closed. The pay is not enough to live off of, not worth the stress you endure daily, and not enough to cover medical expenses from catching ever virus that walks through the office door. Management expects you to not get sick even though you encounter sick people everyday. Management also likes to create unnecessary drama and make the workplace toxic. Management will also make it seem like they are going to promote within and then hire from outside. The only thing good about this company is the benefits. Even then though if you don't go to a covenant facility, more than likely insurance won't cover fully and you'll be stuck with a bill. I don't recommend working for this company unless you are higher up in the ranks so to speak.

CCU RN (Current Employee) –  KnoxvilleJune 11, 2019
Many employees are leaving the company to find better pay, better scheduling and advancement opportunities. It would be a great place to work if the above mentioned issues were improved.

Getting burnt out working in emergency rooms. Just looking for a nice change in the medical field. Just feeling like a change in pace would be nice and would refresh my love for patient care.

Poor management
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) –  Lenoir City, TNJune 5, 2019
Many wonderful coworkers, which management doesn't value. Experienced nurses are seen as a liability; new nurses are often precepted by nurses with 2 or less years of experience.

Med-surg ratio for nurses may be up to 10; criticial care up to 4.
Pros
Good health insurance, nice coworkers
Cons
Unsafe staffing

Nurse (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNMay 30, 2019
Promises are made but never followed through once hired!! Find another place to work. There is no respect for what you do. No recognition or even a thank you. No one listens to suggestion. They don't want to change. Just wanna keep treating staff like dogs. Actually dogs are treated better
Cons
Management, schedule, moral, work load, parking, breaks...all are horrible!!

Great place to work. The hardest part of the job is the change in patients' culture. Most Enjoyable was the patient contact and the ability to change someone's life.

Intern (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNMay 14, 2019
I was only an intern at this facility, so I didn't get paid. However, I did enjoy my experience at this facility. If I decide to work in a clinical setting, I will apply for a position here.
