Great Gig for the Right People

I worked for Cox for over 20 years. For years I was promised a chance at movement and promotion if I did X. Then, I did X and I was told well you need to do Y. Y was not enough. Eventually I ran out of the alphabet and gave up. By the time I retired, the company's push for minority placement made it almost impossible to get promoted if you were not a minority. Lots of nice people, poorly run company.

Great benefits, management is so nice the fail to hold employees accountable. Leads to unprofessionalism, unreliable employees. Neoptism rampant, little room for growth. Massively unqualified managers and directors. Stick it out as long as you can, have them pay for educational expenses then move on.

Cox Is a great place to work. The leadership has always made it a point to listen to the employees and make actionable changes for the better. Stressful but Supportive

Yes back to back calls are stressful, especially after we were all sent to WFH and everyone calling in was frustrated but my management team was super supportive and even provided information on how to get additional support outside of work. They encouraged using PTO when it was available, if you needed it. Mental health was very important, at least with my experience.

No opportunities for advancement

Yes they offer good benefits, but that's about it. Instead what they really offer you is nonstop back to back calls with frustrated and angry customers who have already spent 20 minutes trying to communicate with an outsource partner in the Philippines before they are dropped off to your phone queue with no explanation of what happens for the previous 20 minutes.
