Marketing Communications Consultant (Former Employee) –  Newton, MAApril 2, 2019
CCFA of New England is a great organization with great people; they have a large list of volunteers and diverse programs to support those in need. I was closely involved with their Education Symposium and Take Steps Walk.

Disappointing
Executive Director (Current Employee) –  IllinoisMay 4, 2018
They have very good research to talk about and the volunteers are wonderful. The leadership is poor and very untrusting. They micromanage everything. The philospophy is Ready- FIRE- Aim. Very little process or structure in the decision making process. The leader of HR struggles with process- they still do not have a formal discipline process and there isn't any professional development for staff budgeted.
Pros
Research Success
Cons
Poor senior leadership- Untrusting- Micromanage everything.

I was a volunteer committee member and attended many meetings regarding improving recognition within the bay area so we can help support more patients with IBD. I left because I was graduating.

Camp Counselor (Former Employee) –  Winder, GAMay 12, 2017
Ever since I attended this camp years ago as a child, I have constantly looked eye to eye with the staff and have never experienced a hard time. Now, an adult, I stick with this belief that the staff at the CCFA is one of the greatest and most caring in Atlanta.

Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America
Assistant to Walk Manager (Former Employee) –  Garden City, NYApril 3, 2017
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is a great non-profit organization. We try to find a cure for Crohn's and Colitis. I assisted the Walk Manager in planning events such as the annual walks that take place throughout the year. There are "take steps" teams all over the world as well as multiple teams on Long Island that work together and train for half marathons and full marathons across the country. A few places the teams have traveled to have been Vegas and Naples.

Administrative Assistant Intern (Former Employee) –  Rockville, MDJanuary 5, 2017
How anyone can even consider doing this full time is beyond me, unless your car is paid for, fairly new, you are going to take a beating on Maintenance and on most days the real money makers are when you are taking the biggest risks and on top of all that the taxes you have to pay is if you have your own business the 1099 doesn't even subtract their fees

CCFA is advanced and dedicated to improving the lives of those with Crohn's and Colitis. This is a very rewarding organization to volunteer for. I enjoyed the social and educational aspects that CCFA had to offer.

Great mission, poor management and organizational structure
Education Manager (Current Employee) –  New York StateAugust 16, 2016
CCFA has the potential to be great. However, management is horrible. Employees aren't allowed to speak up for themselves or the people they serve. The organization is driven by revenue goals and not patient's needs. Not very good to people of color. Forget raises and bonuses, they don't give them out.
Pros
Decent pay
Cons
Management, lack of cultural competency, driven by revenue

Volunteer Work (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMay 12, 2016
Volunteering to advocate the public was a very rewarding experience. Canvasing the community to bring awareness and find sponsors to donate to the different events that went on throughout the year to raise money for the possible cure of Chron's.

Excellent Organization with room for growth within management
Oregon Take Steps Walk Manager (Former Employee) –  Beaverton, ORAugust 18, 2015
CCFA is an excellent organization for individuals living with Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis and their families.

The issue with this organization lies within the treatment of employees and managment failing to follow extremely important accounting policies and procedures.

Unfortunately, due to retaliation, I was forced out of the organization.
Pros
Meeting excellent families, helping others, seeing the results of your hardwork payoff.
Cons
Difficult Management Team

Great management and cause but dull office life
Administrative Project Coordinator- Temporary (Current Employee) –  Needham, MAAugust 11, 2015
The office is very small with only 3-4 people in the office at once, because most employees are satellite employees. The management team is awesome because everyone truly cares about the work they are doing. Coworkers are all incredibly approachable and friendly. I learned so much about non-profit companies and what it takes to succeed and the work ethic you have to have to do well. I was also entrusted with important projects by management. Great job, just a quite office!
