CrossCountry Freight Solutions is a good place to work. I've been with the company for a few years now and I feel that the management team is fair and good to work with.

Growing Company
Manager (Current Employee) –  Bismarck, NDJanuary 8, 2019
The company is expanding into new markets. There are now 20 locations in 9 states. Training needs improvement. I hear there are plans for a new system.

We use a lot of technology. It's great not to handle so much paper.

People are nice and care about me.
Pros
Technology, Good people, Heated Docks, Liftgates
Cons
Training System, Cold weather

Teamwork at its Best
Operations (Current Employee) –  Sioux Falls, SDJanuary 8, 2019
This company tries to work with the temp toys when they have family emergencies, need time off, or when they are just planning of needing a break. Nobody from this company has ever yelled at me or treated me negatively. The managers do not believe and cussing or swearing, which is hard to find in a transportation company. The great place to work and make a career.
Pros
Not a hostile work environment - very little swearing
Cons
None at this time

CrossCountry has a good culture of collaboration and cooperation and management cares about each employee as an individual. Management is always reviewing employee compensation to ensure we are competitive in the market.

Pretty Good - Home Every Day, 401k, Fair Pay
Driver (Current Employee) –  Denver, COJanuary 8, 2019
Pretty good job. So much better than OTR jobs, getting home every day. I like the 401k option to save for retirement.

Can be hard work and sometimes long hours during the peak season.
Pros
401k, Home Every Day

Hard Work

Dreadful place to work.
Dock Worker/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Sioux Falls, SDJanuary 2, 2019
Employees are not very friendly, a couple of them like to threaten you, depressing workplace. Most of the management are arrogant and treat you bad, you can’t go to them for any kind of concerns because they don’t care, hostile work environment, don’t recommend this place to anyone. If you have personal issues that you have to deal with they’re not understanding of that, if you’re sick and call in they lecture you for it, not a good place to work for!
Pros
Wage.
Cons
Everything else.

Used to be a good place to work for...
Current (soon to be ex) employee (Current Employee) –  Upper MidwestDecember 15, 2018
This company has taken a liking to reducing labor costs by encouraging high turnover to avoid paying benefits for a couple of months. They will lie to your face to get a bit more productivity out of you. Encouraging people to work with their new, "purchased at the lowest price possible," equipment is "modus operandi" at this company... if you're lucky. If you get into an incident with this company's equipment then you can expect them to be at your back... not!

Bottom line... this company is about encouraging corporate greed at the expense of its laborers. If you want to exploit laborers, then this company is a perfect fit for you.
Pros
Ability to exploit people for larger bonuses
Cons
Being exploited so others can make more money

Good Freight Company
Freight Handler (Current Employee) –  Eagan, MNDecember 9, 2018
It's kind of fun to drive a forklift. The docks are heated and the work is busy and interesting. Pay is competitive and so are the benefits. Can't complain too much about it.
Pros
Competetive Pay and Benefits
Cons
Most Freight Handling Shifts are Evening and Night

Pros
Good 401
Cons
Management and dispatching suck

It’s all about getting the most out of each employee. Do not care if you have a family or life outside of work.
Driver (Former Employee) –  Eagan, MNAugust 21, 2018
New management has very little knowledge of the trucking industry or how to treat people. All the dispatchers have less than four months Dispatch experience. Your days are long and you will only have time for your family on the weekend. Most of the equipment is old and not maintained very well. They do have some newer trucks, the new trucks break down about as much as the old.

CrossCountry is a growing company with the addition of Nebraksa, Kansas City, Denver, and a recent expansion into Iowa.
Pros
Opportunity for Advancement, Technology, Streamlined Processes

Dock Worker (Former Employee) –  Fargo, NDJune 2, 2018
I've worked for the company off and on as a dock worker and there's no room for any type of advancement. Once you're put into your role that's it.....
Pros
Can't think of any
Cons
No breaks. Benefits aren't that great. Lack of communication and hectic.

They don’t care about people even though they say they do. Use people to extreme hours, no family time
Driver (Current Employee) –  Kansas City, KSMay 10, 2018
Horrible people. Promise the world but will use them to no end. They get rid of people that actually care about other personnel and their jobs. HR will release people without hesitation and/or justification.

Don't waste your time with them. Good job for temp employment
Supervisor/Manager (Former Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNOctober 26, 2017
Company does not care about their employees. There are far better trucking companies out there, I would not recommend you waste your time with them. They've been in business for over 30 years but they're still trying to figure things out.

Universal Prosperity
Human Resources (Current Employee) –  Bismarck, NDAugust 31, 2017
Universal Prosperity is in CCFS mission statement. I have personally seen this in action with the paid time off they provide us to volunteer at a charity of our choice.

A company that has a mission to include everyone to be prosperous would do right by me and my family.
Pros
New and exciting ways to find solutions and the team members, Great group of people, salt of the earth
Cons
Safety is a priority and drivers are responsible for the lives of many on the road, Zero room for risky behavior

Stable company, home every night, clean vehicles
CDL Class A Driver (Current Employee) –  Eagan, MNAugust 16, 2017
Many long time employees at CrossCountry. I would attribute this to the culture/environment. Stable company with plenty of freight to keep driver's busy. LTL trucking so you get some customer interaction too. Safety is a high priority and they utilize technology well so there's not much paperwork.
Pros
Clean trucks and trailers, good reputation, home from routes at night
Cons
Very busy, this place is for those that like to work
