Staff Nurse, RN (Former Employee) – Orange County, NY – January 10, 2019
Not a good place to work for. First of all, as a nurse you risk your license on a daily basis. Your assignments are not what they tell you at the interview. It changes because nurses do not last long and then management expect you to take on more loads until they find new nurses. There's no teamwork and no communication. You are expected to drop your work to accommodate management's last minute demands. This ncludes working 10 plus hrs if need to be. When audits are done management hides in their office and will not go to join the auditors and they should because important things gets missed. If short staffed, as a nurse you are considered part of the minimum and then you have to stay and cover that shift. If you leave, you get fired and get reported to the justice center and this is one of many "risks that places your license in jeopardy." Also, if you're not liked by management they will target you by piling more work on you to push you out. Therefore, making it a stressful environment. Mileage pay does not equal what you drive on a daily to weekly basis and you spend more of your time driving to meetings etc. than working.
