Staff Nurse, RN (Former Employee) –  Orange County, NYJanuary 10, 2019
Not a good place to work for. First of all, as a nurse you risk your license on a daily basis. Your assignments are not what they tell you at the interview. It changes because nurses do not last long and then management expect you to take on more loads until they find new nurses. There's no teamwork and no communication. You are expected to drop your work to accommodate management's last minute demands. This ncludes working 10 plus hrs if need to be. When audits are done management hides in their office and will not go to join the auditors and they should because important things gets missed. If short staffed, as a nurse you are considered part of the minimum and then you have to stay and cover that shift. If you leave, you get fired and get reported to the justice center and this is one of many "risks that places your license in jeopardy." Also, if you're not liked by management they will target you by piling more work on you to push you out. Therefore, making it a stressful environment. Mileage pay does not equal what you drive on a daily to weekly basis and you spend more of your time driving to meetings etc. than working.

Through my time at CRVI I have grown and been encouraged to grow within the company. It may have its flaws but it has brought me to where I am today.

DSP (Direct Support Professional) (Current Employee) –  Middletown, NYOctober 4, 2018
This company intent on keeping low wages, even when others are paying more. The CEO has a fear of the individuals you will support. (LOOK HIM UP). They are too afraid to fire people who manipulate and get others fired unjustly. If you decide to go to this company...... keep your eyes open and mind sharp. The individuals you support are the poSitive of this job, but you will be paid way more if you look elsewhere. You will be mandated and management could care less..... THEIR MOTTO IS: THE PEOPLE YOU SUPPORT COMES BEFORE YOUR OWN FAMILY...

assistant manager (Former Employee) –  orange countyAugust 4, 2016
The staff and in house management is amazing. Upper management is horrible. Staff stuck working 16 hours or more several times a week. Staff are treated like they are all replaceable. Upper management is very unprofessional yelling at managers and staff. The QI department has instructions to target staff and managers. Individuals in the hospital are left with no visits from staff or management for days and weeks at a time. Not a place to work if you have a life outside of work all due to expectations of upper management.
Pros
the relationship with individuals staff and house management

Direct Support Professional (Current Employee) –  Middletown, NYJuly 6, 2016
I have only been in this company for a few months and the house I work in is great. Manager is lovely and does not mind getting involved in helping staff clean or whatever they need help with. The company does need a little work. I would like to see the hourly pay go up a little more, and better job security.
Pros
Making residents laugh and letting them be themselves.
Cons
Hourly Pay Rate

Okay to contact supervisor (Current Employee) –  Newburgh, NYAugust 1, 2014
Working one on one with adults with developmental disabilities in a group setting. Promote independent living skills and daily support by actively engaging individuals in community settings based off of person center plans. Ability to drive Agency vehicles and accompany individuals to specified locations within the community is a must. This position requires physical lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping as need to care for physically disabled adults.
