Fun environment to work in

Indeed Featured review

Expect a lot but give a little depending on what position you are in. However, management is supportive and they do well with acknowledging how much they appreciate you.

Bad place to work

Csra eoa is a horrible place to work. Center managers and central staff talk down to you as If you are a child. No advancement opportunities. No raise opportunities. No overtime opportunities. Pay is awful for the amount of work the company expects.

Pros

Helping children and families

Cons

Central staff and center directors are disrespectful and unappreciative

Not A Great place to work at all!!!

This is the most unprofessional, extremely stressful, underappreciated job you can ever work. Management says they care about you and the children but that's a lie. They only care about themselves and money. In an effort to remain open, they constantly lie about covid cases or try to keep quiet about it all together. They expose staff and students to this disease constantly without a second thought. They're only focus is to keep the doors of the school open so that they can get the money from the government. Staff is overworked and underpaid. You're expected to do way more than what your job description says with no extra compensation. They harass you constantly about everything and when you report it nothing is done. They pretend to care about you and what difficulties you experience every day, but they just end up sweeping it under the rug and moving on. They hire managers who are more than incompetent and don't know how to do their own job. You're expected to do so much for so little and you don't even get a thank you for going above and beyond. They allow children into the program that none of the staff are capable of handling. They have multiple children with disabilities come in and none of the staff have had any training or licensing to equip themselves for these situations. So the children are not getting the proper care they need. Instead of it being a school where children can learn, grow, and prosper it's like a daycare. If you do get hired just be ready to be overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. Enter at your own risk!

Pros

Spring break, 6wk summer break, and holiday breaks

Cons

Hostile environment, underpaid, underappreciated, and overworked

The children

They go out the way to provide for the low income families . I love working with the children learning all the challenges of this type of job was an awesome experience.

The good was being able to help the students and their parents.

Good was a steady paycheck. The bad no income increases. The upper management was a micromanager and no room for professional growth. Program was not open to changes with current times.

Pros

Steady paycheck

Cons

No room for growth or change

Poor management skills

Could be an excellent program but poor management . Salaries are low for staff except management. Morale low because of work load. High turn over rate

Depends on you.

Good environment and decent pay. The kids can be fun to teach and interact with. When everyone is working together and doing their part the days go by smoothly.

Chose not to add one

Chose not to add one at this time, no reflection on the workplace. I believe everyone should experience some things for themselves (if not a product) and not go on someone else's experience.

Productive place to work. Much is accomplished to improve status of community's needy populations.

As a consultant I do not receive perks offered by FT employees. I can only speak for the days I am on the premises. A lot of my work is done at home on my computer, or in the field when I work with parents of children with identifiable nutritional problems. Workplace culture if productive, cooperative and fun. Management is supportive. I enjoy working with parents in the community. The hardest part of the job is parental non-compliance, which leads to poor improvement of children's obesity or weight below expected range.

Pros

Pay is good. Management is easy to work with and willing to listen to suggestions.

Cons

Not enough staff to get job done.

Fun and educating

Safe and environment for the kids and educational . Give the kids a Headstart for learning in life. It also gives the kids a great learning experience in the pre-K to kindergarten classrooms.

Pros

Free transportation

Cons

No safety for the school environment

Working with the kids is great,

Head Start's vision is great, however management is lacking in professionalism. While working in the classroom and watching the kids grow and develop is priceless.

A very productive and positive place to work

It can be stressful at times, but I would not change it for all the child lives I reach. During the day you will create lesson plans for the weeks to come.

Pros

Teaching child letters, shapes, and numbers.

Cons

A lot of paper work

Great place to work

They offer a great balance of home and work life. It is a big employer but you get to know people really quickly and there is always someone there to lend a hand when needed.

Rewarding place of work.

A fun, fulfilling and challenging job. The challenges makes it exciting because it causes you to stretch yourself to find different or new and innovative ways to help children and families. This can be the most imposing and the most rewarding part of the job-when successful. You are always learning whether program initiated or self motivated.

This is a high pace environment; worker has to be efficient and a good time manager.

Overall this is a good place to work with opportunities for advancement. The hardest part about this job is keeping up with deadlines and doing follow up when required. The most enjoyable part of this job is seeing the children's growth by the end of the school year.

Pros

great benefits

Cons

the fsw's and teacher's salary should be more
