Went to Atlanta GA. For training. Worked at the Rochester NY territory. Performed my job on Track switches. Learned my territory and associated equipment. Then after 60 days was Released from employment. The reason stated was that my Application was Rejected?? Now I'm trying to get my job back? It's posted now on CSX job site. The wife doesn't want me to go back after what they've Done!

The culture that has been implemented at CSX is very destructive for home life. Employees are leaving at a very alarming rate and if things don’t change for the better and this company doesn’t wake up and pay people better for the stress that is being rolled out to the employees, more people are planning on leaving. When 12-14 hours a days is a normal work day, something is definitely wrong.
Locomotive Electrician in Selkirk, NY

Absolute terrible company. No holidays off, can never get approved for PTO requests. They took away boots for free. Took away benches to sit at. They abolish all the weekend jobs. 14 years at the railroad and I have Wednesday and Thursdays. Management is the worst. Things get a little bit better away from the mechanical department and away from the locomotive shop. Under paid for all the extra work we now do and still no new contract.

This company could care less how your life is going. The company is your life, everything else comes last. Hard to take care of your home and family when you are never there.

Your retirement will be great . But on the way to it , expect no movement unless you drink with the bosses. They will change policies as the political window changes. Expect to go through a lot of training to explain how privileged you are . Heads up . It’s a fact .
