New business with aspirations and growing pains
Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee) – Santa Clara, CA – January 18, 2019
The jury is still out on Cyxtera. The company acquired the data center footprint from CenturyLink and is in the process of turning the product into a proft-maker and has designs on going IPO. There are some good ideas for streamlining product offerings and reducing costs (automation, etc.) and there are well-meaning and hardworking individuals up the chain, but Cyxtera also kept some of the braintrust from CenturyLink. CenturyLink was not able to make their data centers profitable, so it would stand to reason that a new way of thinking could benefit the company. Many of the same mistakes that CenturyLink was making are still being made.
