Successful work completion

Indeed Featured review

After having been out of work for a little over a year for health reasons, this job was purposely chosen for it's level of job difficulty to the applicant.: (It was something I'd never done before, overnight work and twelve hour shifts!) After a year and a half, my assignment was completed successfully, and I am now pursuing career opportunities with stability and the opportunity for career advancement.

Not a great place

No growth potential, uppers feel threatened when questioned about different policies and procedures. If you had no opinion you were good. Did not like to be challenged with questions

No growth

Company is not run very well

Turnover is very high, especially with management. Pay is fair, but work/ life balance is poor for many of the employees. Eighty-five percent of the staff is only Temps, and are only there during peak season. Most are being told that they are temp to hire, but that is not the case. Very shameful!

Meeting good people!

Upper management

Low wages, not enough raises (current job postings are offering $24/hr, but I am getting paid 18/hr for the same position with years of experience.) which feels a bit under appreciated.Current management is relaxed, which is nice. Coworkers are nice.Job is time sensitive, but manageable.

Co workers are fine. Current management is relaxed.

Poor /no raises some years. Short staffed means you may get Mandatory overtime.

It being a 3pl makes it difficult to get anything done for the employees so management reaps all the profits

Idk what else to say but it’s client driven.. so if you end up in a building where the client is greedy and treats you as a number then you’re pretty much assed out

Job seekers rely on your experience.

Every work experience is unique. Let people know your thoughts on previous employers.

Not hard labour, easy job, don't expect to get paid much though. Temps get paid way more so don't convert to company.

Managers seem to not know what's going on most of the time. You'll get an unpaid lunch. It's a sit-down job. Temps get paid way more than the company employees, so don't convert

Sit down job

Insurance is garbage and EXPENSIVE, temps get paid more than company employees, unpaid lunch

It's a cool place

It's a cool place and all but can't really grow in the company but it has its busy but it's mostly a lot of down time and sitting around a lot makes time drag than they get mad when you sitting around but theirs nothing to do at all and they won't let you go home early

Easy work, boring too much down time sometimes

Hard to move up they only want people they know move up, when getting hired on you don't get a raise you keep same pay when you was a temp, too many Indians no chiefs at all

Great Company, Awesome Environment

I’ve been with the company for 1 year now. DB Schenker Logistics is a huge company with a small company feel. The work is challenging but rewarding. Pay is more than fair and benefits are great.

Don't ever work there, too much of being overwhelmed. Was supposed to work eight hours, turned out to be twelve instead after Covid. No leadership whatsoever.

Pays good

No leadership whatsoever

Some really nice people and some very racist.

The men's restroom is nastier than a port a can at a truck stop. The women's is nice and the management RR is nice. Breaks are 10 minutes, management is very unorganized and they treat you like children. You punch a clock and you better not be late. More rules than an elementary school. I have to ask to go to the restroom, then in front of 40 people they want to know #1 or #2.Everyone goes on break at the same time, like 40 people in a break room with 15 chairs, only 4 microwaves and you only get 30 minutes. The environment is very stressful as nothing works correctly and they change the process daily. They have signs everywhere that say 0 tolerance for racism but that seems to only apply to certain people because it's heard constantly from the ones that it should offend the most.

Some really good people to work with of all races.

Short breaks and some really outragous rules to follow to the T, Hear the N word constantly in a crowd but the ppl saying it are exempt.

Bad management

People don’t quit jobs. They quit management. There are questionable ethics to say the least. However the pay for the position is good and my time there is thankfully over.

Overall a great place

Extremely simple and straightforward job. Very low risk environment that translated into cheap insurance premiums. With accruing vacation time from day one, set up in a way that potentially after 6 weeks you could use a vacation day. I was still younger at the time so I never really looked into the other benefits deeply, but I believe they were good. Only real complaint is the break times.. They got by with the OSHA minimum. It was (3) 15 minute breaks over 12 hr shift.

Cheap insurance, decent 401K, sweet vacation policy

Short breaks

Pay is not equal

They do not promote from within, they pay people hired after you more, even if they do not posses a 1/3 of the experience you have. If you get put on afternoons you will be stuck.

They do have luncheons and pizza a lot.

Terrible management and you are not allowed to have an opinion.

Productive workplace

DB Schenker is a company if you put in hard work, you will be recognized. Management is understanding to employees everyday life and very understanding when life throws us curve balls, management works with you. There is room for advancement if you pay attention to what is expected out of you.

No life woking for them

It was an ok job to work for if you have thick skin and could endure most of the bs they throw your way. They have seniority priorities here and you more then likely would be working night shift until one of their senior guys decide to quit or switch to nights for personal reasons. They have their favorite picks here fir the guys that are “yes men” to them and im a bery hard worker, gave them a 120% every night i worked there all to be insulted by one of their favorite yes man. The supervisors are fairly decent and its nothing to take off went you need too with no hassle at all. They treat drivers like machines instead of human beings throughout it all but im starting to get used to that in this driving industry

Can request time off when you need it with no hassle

Treats drivers like machines

It used to be awesome. Now it's just meh.

When I first started in 2018, it was a fun place to work, and very laid back. The weekend shift in particular was awesome. We had a good crew, and the weekend manager was a great boss to work for. However, in 2020 they moved into a new facility and everything changed. The weekend shift was mostly done away with. One of the most fun job positions: "Put-away", was mostly eliminated and replaced with automated machines, aka "DMS". The management became more uptight, as well. It's hard to put into words, but basically the whole vibe of the place changed for the worse. It's still not a horrible job, but it's not great either.

It's fairly laid back for non-DMS employees. Bosses aren't constantly breathing down your neck

Low pay, Must wear headache-inducing safety glasses at all times, The jab will soon be mandatory

It was a good place to work for but competition is a bit too much. Its fast paced. Almost everyone at dbshenker seemed to enjoy their job. And quite a few stayuntil retirement
