Great Factory
Packing Line Operator (Former Employee) –  Lewisport, KYFebruary 8, 2019
Dal-Tile is a great factory to work for if you like hard work. Machines constantly break down and you are encouraged to fix them yourself, but let maintenance do the repair first and try to learn from them before attempting your own repairs. You're producing tile, its heavy and sharp, so it does alot of damage to moving parts over time.

There is little to no communication throughout the factory, if you need something done, more often than not, you will have to do it yourself.

The best part of daltile is the work schedule. You make the same amount as working a full 5 day week, but in 3 days. So you have a lot of time off to enjoy yourself.
Pros
Days worked vs days off. Lots to learn which can apply to other jobs in life.
Cons
Machines Constantly break.

Great place to work for young people.
Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXJanuary 22, 2019
Easy place to work at for young people and even some older people with little to know bills. Various shifts but the 5am - 3pm seemed to be the best shift due to not a lot of overtime unless it was volunteer. Usually started pre-shift around 5:15am every morning sometimes sooner. Work flowed real easy when supervisors weren't breathing down your neck. Do your job and go home.
Pros
Easy and good pay
Cons
Lack of advancment

Average customer service job
Team leader (Current Employee) –  Cranbury, NJNovember 30, 2018
Typical customer service job where when the customer is unhappy or unable to find exactly what you want, it'll cause stress. Some of my coworkers are very unhelpful and I often have to pick up their slack albeit the manager already being aware of the situation.

Fun Workplace
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Alexandria, VANovember 28, 2018
This was a fast pace company. Every day was busy for us and I enjoyed every minute of it. Learning new tile material and how to lay tile was exciting.

The work environment was like working with family even though we were not related.

Good Company with management structural issues
Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (Former Employee) –  El Paso, TXNovember 8, 2018
The work structure throughout the facility was fun and communicable. The Safety and Environmental Team was solid from top to bottom and willing to assist as needed.
Top Management was difficult to develop due to set-structural hierarchy and didn't want change or influence from above.
Pros
The people

Limited flexibility

Very hostile work environment- cut throat leadership
Man (Former Employee) –  Sunnyvale, TXOctober 24, 2018
This is the worst company to work for!! I would not recommend working at Dal-tile to anyone. The mangers have no direction and write you up for everything with no warnings! They have a zero policy on time and attendance- meaning if you clock in 1 min past your time it's a point and this is how they fire people. If you try to go talk to HR they will tell you they dont have time for you and you must make an appt. It is unorganized, poorly managed, there is a lack of leadership the environment is extremely hostile and aggressive. I strongly do not advise anyone apply for this company.
Pros
None
Cons
Aggresive hostile work environment no leadership zero tolerance policy for time
