Director of Information Technology (Former Employee) - Farmers Branch, TX - March 7, 2018
Things have gotten better with leadership as of late.
Couldn't afford to pay market pricing, so they made it up with more time of than people knew what to do with.
Professors were wonderful to work with.
Free lunch during the school year, lots of time off
Dallas Christian College is a very small campus. The staff is small and there are some staff members who are not friendly to their coworkers. Overall, I would not recommend working here unless you have an extremely high tolerance for rude coworkers.
Business Office Coordinator (Former Employee) - Farmers Branch - June 24, 2015
It was hard to act normal because there is a very judgmental attitude at the college. It is not just about the religious views but also about how you speak, how you dress, what you do on your time off, whether you go to church.
Marriott was a great place to work and learn about the behind the scenes work that it takes to fuel the economy. I learned a lot in the areas of sales, negotiations, working with large numbers of people to accomplish a common goal, and leadership. This job really help me grow in the area of business and personal relationship skills in the areas of employees and clients.
The most enjoyable part of my job was getting to know the students at DCC. They are fun to chat with. It's fun being a regular part of their day. The hardest part of the job is knowing that we are in a terrible location. Rule number one for owning a storefront is Location Location Location. I set goals lower than average because of the location of the shop.
