It was a good company to work for. While it was a culture dominated by blue collar guys, I felt inclusion being a minority woman. My VP was supportive and my voice and insight was encouraged at every marketing/sales meeting.

I enjoyed going into work every morning!! My weekly hours consisted of Monday to Friday from 8-5 and bi-weekly Saturdays 10-3. We had a very small office including me, my assistant manager, and manger. We had a warehouse which held 3 coworkers and a showroom which held 2 coworkers. We all became very close, and became a family away from home! I would come in each morning set up the register, check emails/phone messages from the night prior, make sure the truck routes were set for the morning, contact customers in regards to there shipments for the day, check status of all UPS FED EX FREIGHT shipments we all sent out day prior, sort out mail and distribute to coworkers, set up coffee in lobby, scan in documents from prior days work and anything else the office needed. Throughout the day my main duties were to greet each customer by phone and/or entering our facitlity, processing supply orders, and the handling of any work my managers or coworkers needed! I learned that in any job; you make what you want of it. If you are miserable every morning, the rest of your day will follow along in that pattern. I found that because we all worked together to help one another, the office ran very smoothly and instead of having difficulties, I found enjoyment in all aspects of my job!!

A typical day at Davis and Warshow was relatively quit. There were days that were really slow and other days when things were really busy. I got a look at the way things were done in a somewhat corporate environment. My manager was hardly at my location, so i would not say that there was much managing . There were several other showrooms that he managed. The hardest part of the job was not having anything challenge or new to learn . I enjoyed the events and learning about plumbing supply that became of importance later in my life. The environment was calm and mostly quiet throughout the day.
