... as the old saying goes. Deacom is proof that you can write Visual Fox Pro in any language. They might be using "Xamarin and C# 8.0 features," but it's with an archaic code base that was mangled just enough for a modern C# compiler to digest it. It's a Jurassic Park of design patterns that deserved to go extinct, and these dinosaurs can only be contained in classes that span over 10000 loc in some cases.
Employees are discouraged to think outside the box and find new solutions to industry challenges. The aforementioned code base is so massive and fragile that a culture of fear has spread around making anything other than the most superficial changes possible.
There are a lot of whiteboards, and the wi-fi almost works in most of the conference rooms.
Engineers are given the freedom to pursue the design that most resembles what is already there.
Flextime policy: take the time you arrived and add 9 hours to find out when you can leave that day. You're going to take an hour long lunch whether you want to or not -- it's compulsory.
Job security is terrible to the point of recklessness. Employees can be and are terminated without cause or notice, given a minimal token severance, and treated like pariahs when they are forced to pack up their effects. Perfectly legal, but you should ask yourself if that's a risk you're willing to take before you apply.
