If you were in charge, what would you do to make Dead River Company a better place to work?
Fixing the problems are going to be difficult. As the problem people are in management and upper management. I see a tone of employees asking how these people got there jobs, with no practical industry experience. I am sure taking away power to make foolish decisions would be a start. I am of the opinion the only way the management culture will be tamed is by unions standing up for the employees.
Management and department heads. Inconsistent policies. All depends on the day and who you are. FARCE
Schedule! I like the company and want to stay but having kids you want to see and raise just doesn't fit with the insanely long days required.
When its cold. Delivery drivers start by 7:30am and get a lot of hours 10-14.
Transport drivers start at 2 am and 2 pm. Set 4 days and extra if trucks are available per sonority.
Health, vision, life, dental, PTO, HSA/FSA, 401K w company match, tuition reimbursement, college scholarships, uniforms (techs, drivers), 10 paid holidays, short and long term disability, product discounts, volunteerism benefit of 8 hours.
Be willing to work hard and learn. Get along with other people, and you will have a job for life.
